Two Weeks Before Wrestlemania Backlash...
The WWE is two weeks away from its next premium live event. Wrestlemania Backlash. The event rightfully has the previous PLE's name attached to it for a reason. This is because a couple of matches already made official for the Backlash PLE are rematches from Wrestlemania.
A person looking to get a rematch on Backlash is none other than Jordan Pierce. Having come so close to winning the United States title at Wrestlemania, Pierce was eyeing the U.S. title again. The past two weeks, Pierce had picked up wins on Raw. Quickly regaining momentum after his loss. He hoped to make a case for a rematch tonight on Raw.
In the women's division, things have been shaky for Liv Morgan and her tag team partner Rhea Ripley. Three weeks ago, Ripley abandoned Liv after a match. And the past two weeks Liv had singles matches against each of the women's tag team champions. However, Liv was alone in those contests as Rhea was not by her side. Liv managed to win one of the singles matches, earning her and Ripley what could be one last chance at the tag titles. That match was set for tonight.

Finn Bálor was in the ring. His United States championship over his shoulder and a microphone in hand. "So, who wants to take their shot at the champ?" Bálor leaves the door open for a challenger.
Bálor and the fans in attendance wait in anticipation for the potential challenger. A few more moments pass before a theme hits.
Finn is visibly confused as the new, dark version of Edge and and the newly aligned Damian Priest make their way down to the ring. Neither is dressed for a match either.
"Finn, I see you're confused. Don't worry, let me explain. Me and Priest are not out here for a match. We are out here to extend an offer. An offer to align yourself with us." The WWE Hall of Famer explains. Edge and Priest enter the ring and Finn warily takes a few steps back.
"This offer is the same one I proposed to Damian. And the two of us are on the cusp of something great. You may be worried about Damian, seeing as you took his United States title. But I can assure you, if you join us there will be no hard feelings. So Finn, will you join us on the mountain of omnipotence? We would love to add the United States champion to our ranks." Edge ends.
Bálor seems to contemplate the offer given to him. He raises the microphone to his lips and gives an answer. "Well Edge, if you and Damian aren't out here for a match...then the both of you can get the hell out of the ring!" Bálor defiantly exclaims.
A look of anger strikes the face of both Edge and Priest. Priest goes to get in Bálor's face, but Edge holds him back. Edge chuckles as if he heard wrong. "Finn what I'm offering-"
"I don't care what you're offering! I don't want any part of it. Now get out of here so I can give these fans a United States championship match!" Finn declares.
Edge looks down and chuckles again. While also removing the arm that was holding back Priest. Priest gets the message and ambushes Bálor with a lariat.
"You made the wrong choice Finn!" Edge yells into the microphone before throwing it aside. He swiftly joins Priest in stomping the downed Bálor.
