Yui's POV:
"Let's get started!" Zashi announced. "Counting down to the brutal battle royal! Three...two...one! Start!"
Without thinking twice, I clasped my fingers together. "Ice dome!"
And just like the name sounded, a huge ice dome appeared, protecting my team inside of it.
Just as I saw a few teams heading towards us, I spoke calmly to my front horse, "Kyo, do you thing."
He nodded in response before holding up his palm in front of him and whispering, "Come."
A bright light appeared and in just a few seconds, it formed into a beautiful golden phoenix. The bird rubbed his head to Kyo's cheek in affection. It then quickly flew out of the ice dome through a temporary hole that I made. It flew towards the teams coming our way and snatched their headbands.
Unfortunately, as soon as they realized their headbands were gone, they were too late. The majestic bird had already went back inside the ice dome and gave them to me.
"Did you all see that?!" Zashi asked to the crowd. "Kawasaki Kyo from Shiki Company's Educational Program for Hybrids had snatched the headbands in a matter of seconds using his amazing quirk, Spirit Control! His quirk allows him to create spirit-like creatures to assist him in battle or even in his everyday life!"
"I think this is enough," I told my team while tying the stolen headbands on my neck.
The teams that got their headbands stolen tried to destroy my dome, but it was futile since their attacks were too weak. It didn't even have a single crack on it.
"HAH?! He's gotten separated from his horses!"
The banana head's comment caused my team and I to focus our gazes towards Katsuki, who was aggressively attacking Izuku's team in mid-air. I sweat dropped as I saw Sero, one of his side horses, pulled him back to his team with his Tape quirk.
"He's so damn careless!" Ren yelled, making me chuckled.
"Typical Sparky...," I mumbled. I sighed and gently caressed the phoenix's head. "Be our eyes in the sky, beautiful."
It bowed its head and took off again, circling the entire field and watching the first-year students that were trying to rip each other's headbands off.
A few minutes passed and my team grew really bored, but that changed when Kyo suddenly spoke up, "Yui, Bakugou's headband got stolen by a team from Class 1-B and now he's trying to get it back. The thief's name is Monoma...I think?"
Hearing that news, I clicked my tongue in annoyance. "The kid with a copy quirk. Alright then, ask the phoenix to get closer to Sparky and get ready to do the 'thing'."
Kyo held my hand and made his other hand into a finger gun before aiming it right at his phoenix's direction. "Soul Swap."
It felt like my soul was getting sucked out and when I opened my eyes again, I was in the phoenix's body. I looked back to my team to see my real body resting on Kyo's back, unconscious.
I hadn't done this in a long time, so I did a little spin before diving down in high speed towards Katsuki...and it was really big mistake.
As soon as I got pretty close to him, he hit me with one of his explosion, causing me to crash into a wall, hard. 'Fuck! He must've thought that I was an enemy. And I can't tell him that it's me since I can't talk in this form.'
Third Person's POV:
"Hey, mummy man! Are you seeing this?! Yui just coughed out blood...! My precious niece just coughed out blood!"
Hearing Present Mic's worries made Katsuki, who was pulled back to his team by Sero's Tape quirk again after successfully grabbing two headbands from Monoma, stop and glance at the said girl.
Katsuki saw her unconscious body resting on the back of her front horse while her teammates looked worried and tried to wipe the blood of her mouth. He couldn't help but to feel a little worried, too.
Unfortunately, his attention was diverted once again when he heard a loud screech in the sky.
"Bakugou, the bird is coming again!" Kirishima warned.
"I'll kill that bird!" Katsuki got ready to blast it again, but when his eyes made contact with its eyes, he was a bit surprised that they were the same color as his girl's eyes.
"Yui...?" he mumbled quietly.
The hesitation was enough to make him lower his hand and let the phoenix land on his shoulder.
"Bakugou?" Kirishima was confused when he saw his friend gently caressed its head.
"Why the fuck are you here?" Katsuki asked the bird calmly, earning a look from his team. "Aren't you supposed to be helping your own team?"
His team was shocked once again as the phoenix turned its head towards Monoma's team.
And just like he understood what it was implying, Katsuki smirked widely. "You distract him, I'll do the rest!"
Yui, as the golden bird, nodded before taking off.
"Oi, shitty hair...I couldn't brace myself enough earlier on my own. Now, go!" Katsuki yelled. His team hurriedly rushed towards Monoma's team. "I'll take back our points as well and then go for Deku's ten million! Flat Face, tape!"
"It's Sero!"
"Raccoon Eyes! Lay down a weak dissolving solution in the direction we're going!"
"My name's Ashido Mina!"
While his team did like what he had asked them to, Katsuki added a blast from both his palms, giving them a boost of speed and with that, they quickly caught up with Monoma's team.
The opposite team tried to block his attack with their air shield, but Yui appeared in front of them and forced herself to self-explode. It blinded the opponent and gave Katsuki the distraction he needed to steal the last remaining headband.
Yui's POV:
I woke up back in my own body. I wiped the blood from the corner of my mouth and calmed my racing heart down.
"Time's up!" Zashi announced, causing the entire crowd in the stadium to cheer loudly. "The Cavalry Battle is finished!"
"Oh, thank goodness...!" I sighed in relieve, making my huge ice dome disappear.
I hopped down but as soon as my feet touched the ground, I felt a piercing sensation on one side of my head. I almost fell down if it wasn't for Aoki's help.
"Hey, you okay there?" he asked in concern, holding my arm to keep me steady.
"I'm good, I'm good. Just a little dizzy."
"Yui." Kyo's voice was soft, yet you could tell it was filled with worry. "You're nose's bleeding."
My eyes widened at his words. I touched my nose and felt the warm liquid coming out of it. "Shit...." I wiped my nose, only for the blood to come out again.
"Is it because of that asshole's quirk?" Ren asked in annoyance, clearly pissed at my condition.
"It's not his fault, Ren," I replied calmly. "Calm down."
"Now, let's take a look at the top four teams right away!" Zashi yelled, "In first place, Team Yui—!"
Aoki raised his hand, cutting him off. "Sensei, we're really sorry, but please allow us to forfeit!"
Nemuri-basan simply allowed it since we told her our plan before the event began. "Right...so with Team Yui out of the game, Team Todoroki takes the first place! And in second place, Team Bakugou!"
I took a glance and saw Katsuki yelling in frustration in a very adorable way, causing me to giggle softly. But then...I coughed out blood.
"Yui!" Ren rushed by my side.
"I'm okay, Ren. I'm just gonna go and grab some fresh air."
"Do you want me to accompany you—?"
"No thanks." I held my palm up to stop him. "But I'll come back for the last-minute band practice."
