"Hey I'm right here." She smiled and sat next to him, "How you feeling?" "Tired." "I bet, get some rest. I'll be right here when you wake up." He nodded and closed his eyes, falling asleep.

"So I'm Lanie, and your.." "Ally." The girl smiled. "Nice to meet you Ally." "You too." "Wow, for a five year old you sure know words." "Daddy's a writer." "That would explain." She giggled and nodded. "Are you a writer too?" "Oh no, I'm a doctor." "Oh, that's cool." "At times." She smiled and yawned. "Wanna take a nap?"

Sleepily she nodded and yawned again. Picking up the girl she laid her on the couch and covered her with the hospital blanket. "Sleep well hun."She smiled and closed the door. "Kate?" Hearing her friends call her she got up from the bed and walked out. "Hey." "Hey, how is he?" "Ok, and asleep." "Good, Ally's asleep." "Oh." "I can stay with her if you want?" "No , it's ok, I'll move her in here." "Ok, I gotta get to my class though."

"Ok, thanks again." "Anytime." She smiled and hugged her then walked away.Walking into the old room she picked up the sleeping toddler and brought her to the new room and laid her on the couch. She smiled at her then sat back down next to her husband.

"Kaaate...Please!" "No." "Why?!" "Because you're still healing." It had been 3 weeks from the crash and Rick was back home and bored. "But..." "No buts!" "Fine."

He sighed and plopped on the couch. Suddenly feeling sick, she ran to the bathroom and puked up her breakfast. "You Ok?" She walked out and nodded. "ya, just the morning sickness." "Sorry." She shrugged and sat next to him. "I better get ready for work." "I know." "I mean, I can stay if you need me to." "No, go ahead, I'll be fine." "Ok."

She smiled and kissed him, making him smile. He watched her disappear into the room. "Daddy." "Ya pumpkin?" He watched his daughter jump down the stairs and run to him. "How are you feeling?" 'Much better thank you." She smiled and hugged him. "Is mommy almost ready? I don't want to be late." "Don't worry." She smiled and patiently waited for Kate. "Ok Ally you ready?" "Yep." "Great let's go." "Ok." She smiled and kissed her dad's cheek before taking Kate's hand. "Bye babe, call me if you need anything."

"Will do." She smiled and left with him with a soft kiss before leaving him alone in the house.He was sad and happy. He could play as many video games as he wanted but was bored since no one was in the loft. "Alrighty, let's whoop someone's but." He grabbed his controller and began playing 'call of duty'.

"Mommy." "Hmm?" They were walking up the school steps together when Ally suddenly stopped. "What's wrong hun?" "what if those bullies pick on me today?!" "They won't, I'm here." She nodded and continued walking, "Ok, I'll check on you later. Have a good day and I'll see you at lunch." "Ok mommy." She smiled and watched her daughter walk into the kindergarten classroom. "Morning Sierra." "Oh, good morning Principal Beckett."

She smiled and walked into her office. She had asked Rick if it was ok with him that she still used her surname at work, He was fine with it and agreed. "Oh, by the way. You have a meeting with the school board at 12:30." Darn!  She totally forgot! She would have to tell Ally she wouldn't be able to eat with her today. "Thank you Sierra, I'll be right back." "Sure thing."

Kate gave her a smile and walked out of the office towards the classroom. She knocked, gathering attention from all the kids. "Mr. Evans, could I speak to Ally real quick." "Of course." "Ally." "Yes sir?"                     

"Your mother would like a word with you." Kate saw when he said mother he had a glare, she knew he always had a thing for her. He was sweet but she wasn't what she was looking for. Ally smiled and ran out the door. "What's wrong mommy?" "Sweetie, I'm afraid I can't have lunch with you today." She lowered her head and looked at the tile floors beneath them.

"Oh." "I'm sorry sweetie, but I have an important meeting." "It's ok." "Thanks for understanding." Nodding she hugged her mother then ran back into the classroom.Kate sighed and walked back into her office, This was going to be a long day.

"Ally!" "Coming Paige." "Come on slow poke." The girls giggled and ran to the playground. It was recess and all the kids were laughing and having a good time. While the girls were swinging on the bars Ally noticed the boys that tease her walk up. She jumped of the bars and tried to run but they stopped her. "Leave me alone!" "Make us!" "I'm tellin!" "What, are you going to tell your new mommy." "yes!"

"Please.. You wanna know why we pick on you!" She folded her arms and looked at them. "Because your a nobody! You're just a little orphan girl who happened to be adopted by a rich dad." "That's not true!" Why do you think it took your dad 5 years to find a wife? Because no one wanted you! Not even your real parents! I bet Principal Beckett doesn't even want you." By now ally was in tears, she never saw herself as a orphan.

Maybe her dad and Kate didn't want her. She ran off leaving the boys snickering at her. "ALLY!" Paige had heard the whole thing and ran after her friend but couldn't find her. She had to tell principal Beckett, she was the principal and her mother. "Running into the building she ran into the office. "Principal Beckett! Principal Beckett!"

She couldn't find her but soon heard talking from the meeting room. She quickly ran in where she saw Kate talking with other people. "Young lady we are in a meeting!" Said one of the board directors. Paige didn't care she ran to Kate, "paige what's wrong?!" "it's Ally!" Standing up quickly she apologized to the directors and ran off. "What happened?! Is she hurt!" Shaking her head the girl stopped and looked down. "Paige!"

Kate bent in front of her. "What happened!" "It was the boys, they wouldn't stop! They made her run off and cry!" "What did they say?!" Hesitant she finally told her. "They said that Ally was a nobody and that her dad could never find a wife because nobody wanted her, and that you didn't want her either and that she was just a orphan girl who happened to be adopted by a rich dad."

Kate wanted to strangle those boys so badly right now. "It's not true Mrs. Beckett is it!" "No No! Of course no! None of that is true!" "I knew it." Where did Ally run off too?" Paige looked down again. "Paige please!" "I tried to stop her ! I did! She ran beyond the gate and ran towards the street." Kate felt like she was going to cry. "Thank you sweetie." She ran off leaving Paige scared.

Quickly grabbing her phone she ran outside the building and into her car. Deciding not to drive she locked the car back up and tried to think where Ally would go. She was only 5 ! She could have been kidnapped already ! Or..Worse!" Breathe Kate! She needed to tell Rick.

It had been 2 hours and Kate was still looking. "After searching the school grounds she got into her car and began driving when her phone rang. It wasn't a familiar number but she answered it. "Hello?"

"Kate, Hi this is Kevin, Detective Ryan." "Oh, umm Hello again." "I'm afraid we have some news." "what?!" "We have a little girl here at our precinct name Ally." Feeling air rush through her she breathed. "Is she ok?!" "Yes she is." " Tell her I'll be right there and not to worry!"
