Summer Secrets

"Cass, are you sure you don't want to come?" Shawn asks me for the fifth time, "Shawny, I'm fine. I don't want to go to Cory's, besides if my parents just so happen to see me there, summer is over early for us. I'll just stay here until you come back, no big deal." I smile, reassuring him. He leans down to give me a kiss, "I love you." We say in unison as he leaves Turner's house.

I take this time to clean up Turner's kitchen and living room, Shawn left his dishes out from this morning and all his clothes scattered in the living room. "Cass, you don't have to do that!" Turner says, startling me a little, "Oh, it's okay. It's just a few dishes and I put his clothes in the hamper. I'm almost done, I'll get out of your way." I say a bit nervous, Mr. Turner doesn't make me nervous I don't know why I get like this.

"Cass, what's going on? Is everything okay at home, you've been at my place pretty much all summer; your folks have to miss you." He says leaning against the counter, "Uh, they're still on their vacation but they come back tomorrow, I can leave if you want me to, I'm sorry for overstaying my welcome." I begin to crack my knuckles out of nervousness, "No Cass that's not at all what I'm saying, I appreciate you being here you keep Shawn in line and my place has never looked better. I was just asking." He softly pats my back but when he raises his hand I flinch, "Cass, you sure everything is alright? You and Shawn okay?" He looks at me, I nod, "We're good, I promise." I shoot him a fake smile, he nods and stands up, "Just let me know if you need anything. I have to run some errands." He says before leaving the apartment.

I sigh in relief as he leaves, no more questions.

Shawn and I spent all summer together and I managed to keep my big secret from both Mr. Turner and Shawn but now, we're back to school which means I'm back home.
