"you are now listening to THE MUSIC BOX ROCK FM! here's one of the hottest and personally one of my favorite bands Motionless In White with their new single 'Slaughterhouse'!"

the song starts playing and I mute myself.

"hey, we have an interview in an hour. did Bryan tell you?" my coworker Josh says when he walks into the booth.

"no? but you mean YOU have an interview?" I take a sip of my coffee confused.

"nope," he pops the 'p'. "we're interviewing together."

my eyes widen as I've never had to do an interview for the radio station, it's always been Josh doing them.

"okay? who are we interviewing?"

"it's a newly popular band, Bad Omens. it's just two of the members, but they've been here before. just make sure the booth is ready in an hour please." he says before walking out.

sounds familiar but I can't put my finger on it. maybe it's because I've played their music?

"alrighty guys! coming up we have SleepToken with their song 'Alkaline' and in about 30 minutes I have a surprise that I'd like to announce so stay tuned! here's 'Alkaline'!"

I set up the other mics and grab two extra chairs for the guests as the music plays uninterrupted for the next 30 minutes.

"can I get a drum roll for the announcement?" I make a drum roll sound with my hands. "In just a few minutes we will have a fan favorite in the booth! newly popular and incredibly talented, fans around the world seem to go crazy over this band! I'll give you guys a hint with this next song, here's 'Just Pretend'!"

a knock wraps on the door, "hey, they're here. everything set up?"

"yeah, bring them in." I say.

doing my last few seconds of checking everything I hear the door open.

"this is Kennedy, she's our main radio personality." I hear Josh and turn around.

I have a smile on my face that slightly turns into a shocked expression when I meet familiar eyes.

Bad Omens. Bad Omens. Bad Omens.... oh.

the night in the car a few weeks ago takes hold over my mind as I meet his, also shocked expression. now I know why the name seemed so familiar. Noah. it's Noah's band. the one who got in my car to escape a parade of screaming girls.

I clear my throat and stand up, putting my hand out.

"welcome I'm Kennedy, as you know."

"Joakim, but everyone calls me jolly." he shakes my hand with a welcoming smile.

then Noah, "I'm Noah, thank you for having us!" he says with a smile.

"of course, now y'all get comfortable while I finish the last touch ups and then we will be on air."

I touch up some of the mic settings and make sure they work before making the announcement.

"this is y'all's second time being here?" I ask while making some adjustments.

"yeah, we're excited to be back. everyone is really cool here and it's just good energy that is very needed." Noah nods, slightly swiveling in his chair.

I hand both of them a pair of headphones.

"that's amazing, I'm glad you're comfortable here and I'm glad you like everyone enough to come back." I joke.

he lets out a soft chuckle and nods his head.

"how come we didn't see you last time? we were in this same booth." Jolly asks.

"I don't usually do this type of thing, it's usually Josh. I like to step out for a bit and walk around, so this is a first for me."

he nods and Josh walks back in, "alright, you boys ready?"

they nod and I start the announcement.

"now for what you've all been dying for! I'm here with Josh and we have two special guests with us today in the studio and I am stoked to finally announce that Bad Omens will be joining us for an interview! we have both Noah and Jolly here with us, how are you boys today?"

"we're great! thank you guys for inviting us back!" Noah says.

"of course, of course. now, the new album 'THE DEATH OF PEACE OF MIND' is incredible, definitely one of my favorites! congratulations on all the love it's gotten as well as the band. that must be so surreal for y'all." Josh starts off the interview.

"thank you and most definitely. I never really imagined us blowing up the way we did, I mean we've been a band since 2015. we weren't super popular in the beginning but I loved it. I got to share my music with a small group of people and now I get to share with people all around the world. it's definitely crazy but it's great."

"that's great! I hear you guys are starting tour soon?" I say.

"we are, November 4th in Atlanta will be the start of the tour! it's the 'CONCRETE JUNGLE' tour, which actually already sold out! we're extremely grateful for this opportunity and support from everyone. as you said earlier it's incredibly surreal."

the interview goes on for about 30 minutes, Josh asking most questions and me putting the occasional word in.

"and that guys, is Bad Omens! thank you guys so much for stopping by to hang out with us!" I say.

"absolutely! we're excited to be back, again thank you for the opportunity to be back." Noah says.

"thank you to everyone who joined us and listened on THE MUSIC BOX RADIO FM. and again let's give it up for Bad Omens! here's 'Like A Villain'."

I take my headphones off and let out a sigh.

"you guys are more than welcome to hang out here if you would like." I take a sip of water and Josh heads out to prepare other things.

"save anyone else at midnight, Superman?" Noah jokes.

"nope just that one damsel in distress." I give him a smile

"thanks again by the way."

I just nod my head hinting that it wasn't a problem.

"you're the one who drove Noah home?" Jolly asks surprised.

"yeah, barely escaped a parade of Barbies'. scared the shit out of me by the way."

"sorry." he gives me a cheeky smile.

"honestly we didn't believe his story much, but now I do. we just thought he hooked up with someone and just didn't want to tell us." Jolly shrugs with a chuckle.

"what? running from a crowd of teenage Barbies' is so believable!" I joke.

a phone rings, it's Noahs. he picks it up and exchanges a few words before hanging up.

"that was Bryan, we gotta go, but it was nice seeing you again and it was great to get to do another interview with y'all! hopefully there will be another time but until then I hope you have a great day! bye Kennedy." Noah says as he and Jolly get up from their seats.

"absolutely! anytime! it was nice seeing you again as well and it was nice meeting you Jolly, y'all have a great day and a great tour! bye guys."

they leave and I'm left in the booth listening to Ice Nine Kills. I let out a sigh I didn't know I was holding and slouch in my seat, closing my eyes.
