the papers make a loud thump as they hit Josh's desk next to his feet that he has resting upon it. he jumps at the sound, waking up but I just turn around and walk out not sparing him a glance.

"what the hell kennedy!"

"night Josh!"

I walk out into the slightly cool air, the sun already went down and the street lights were the only thing lighting up the dark street. for the first week back it's just been paper after paper to sign and Josh's non stop bitching.

it's late so I stop by the nearest Chick-fil-A and pick up a spicy chicken sandwich.

not that a condone eating and driving, but it's late and I'm starved.

the one thing I like about back roads is how dark they are compared to the main ones, and how less busy they are. they can be scary, but at the same time calming. it's never made sense to me.

there wasn't a star in the sky to be seen unless you were on a back road, then you might see a speckle of light in the sky.

the tune of R.E.O Speedwagons song "can't fight this feeling" plays quietly through the radio. the song seemingly fits perfectly with the late night drive.

the boys come home soon as in a day or two, which I'm looking forward to. the apartment searching though, not so much.

"Ozzi? Harper?" I call when I enter the house and hear the pounding of paws hitting the stairs.

"come on, outside! let's go!"

I open the back door and they bolt. not even a minute later they run back to me, jumping up and down in excitement.

I make them food and head to my room to get changed and ready for bed.

I send a text to Noah letting him know I made it to the house and that I'm going to bed.

I still haven't told him that I love him. I know he loves me but I want to tell him in person rather than over the phone.

sleep comes to me before I can even register it, both Ozzi and Harper curled next me on the bed. them taking up more than half of it.

I'm lightly shaken awake.

"Ozzi, lay back down." I mumble into the pillow.

a soft chuckle is what makes my eyes open.

not only am I met with a blinding light but I'm also met with the beautiful aura of my boyfriend.

"hey baby." he whispers moving hair out of my face, before placing a delicate kiss on my forehead.

"hey."

he climbs into the bed next to me and I immediately turn on my side as we face each-other. sleep still in my system, my body and mind haven't quite registered what's going on to their fullest capacity.

"I missed you." I whisper staring into his gentle eyes.

"I missed you too baby." this time he places a gentle kiss on the tip of my nose.

we don't say much, we just lay looking at each other and the sun light fills the room more and more.

I lean in and place a sweet kiss on his lips, smiling into it, before finally saying, "I love you."

his smile widens as he kisses me back. "I love you too."

just a second after that moment, excitement burns through my body as I remember something very important and I shout throughout the house.

"Nicholas! I'm gonna beat your ass!"
