banging on the glass door startles me.

it's 1am and the station is closed. I stand up and grab my mace that I keep on my keychain. I slowly walk towards the hallway and look passed the wall that blocks me from sight.

"damn it Nicholas!" I say loud enough that he hears me and he puts an innocent smile on his face.

I go unlock the door, "may I ask why you're here at 1am?"

"nope and it's not just me." he walks past me and goes into the booth. that's when the other 3 misfits walk in.

"if y'all are here to rob me, good luck! hell I'll even help you look." I say locking the door behind them.

"that's my seat you numbskull." I say when I see Noah sitting in my seat. he just innocently smiles at me and I just grab an extra chair.

"so why are you guys here again?" I ask.

"we're bored." Folio shrugs.

"I see." I say and pick up my laptop to finish the email I was working on before I got interrupted.

"whatcha doin?" Noah asks trying to look at the screen.

"finishing an email. what are you doing?" I look over at him with a smile.

"oh you know, just chilling."

"uh huh." I nod and continue to type.

"you overwork yourself." Nick says.

"wow! thanks captan obvious!"

he snorts in response.

"I know you guys aren't here to watch me write emails all night." I sigh.

"not at all." jolly says.

"so?" I look up at them from the computer screen.

"we're here to kidnap you." Noah says.

"good luck with that." I snort.

and just like that the laptop is taken out of my lap and put in my bag which Nick grabs.

"movie night." Noah winks.

"guys!" I groan.

"nope! don't wanna hear it, get your ass in the car." folio says.

"what about my car!" I say as we exit the building.

Folio swings my keys in front of my face before walking to my car.

"I'm so going to kill y'all."

"aww how sweet! you really touch my heart Kenny." Nick says placing his hand over his heart.

"fine but I call shotgun!"

"Noah's driving."

"still shotgun!"

"don't you boys have something better to do than kidnap an innocent woman?" I say in the silence of the car ride.

I only earn snorts in reply.

I huff and watch the dark trees we pass by.

"Jolly can I braid your hair?"

"hey! why don't you want to braid mine?" Nick gasps.

"Nicky I hate to break it to you but Jolly has better hair than you," I pause. "I mean not that I said that or anything."

Noah chuckles beside me.

soon enough we get to their house, Folio brings my car back in one piece thankfully.

"so what are we gonna watch?" I ask as I jump on their couch.

"not a clue." Noah responds.

"great, you kidnap an innocent woman and promise her a movie but can't even figure out which movie. do better." I whine jokingly.

that only earns me a pillow to the face by Nick.

"you asked for it Nicky!" I say and pick up the pillow.

instead of watching a movie we all end up in a battle of pillow fighting for the next half hour. at one point they ganged up on me, might I say was not fair.

when we finally calmed down, we put on a random movie that I don't care to know the name of. let's just say everybody but Noah and I didn't last through it and they were all passed out not even 30 minutes in.

"I'm gonna go get some fresh air, wanna join?" Noah asks.

"sure, the movie is boring anyways."

he holds his hand out to help me up and I take hold of it.

I didn't know how warm it made me until our hands were apart and how cold and empty I felt afterwards.

I, of course ignore it like I ignore all my feelings. but there's still something that I can't shake.

we walk outside and take a seat next to each other in a comfortable silence, before I decide the silence is too much.

"the night has always been my favorite compared to day. everything about it is just so calming. I mean living in LA you get police sirens and just some other kind of bullshit things but everything is just better at night." I say looking up at the stars.

"when I was young I would drag my dad outside to watch the stars with me. he'd tell me all he knew about them and my wanderlust mind just kept going. I love the constant slight chill that the night brings. it's serenity."

I can feel his gaze on me as I watch the sky, "you know it's rude to stare."

I hear him chuckle beside me before I see him look up from the side of my eye.

"it is nice, isn't it?" he finally says.

"yeah." I let out a happy sigh.

"the night has always felt like a distant friend of mine. someone who's always there to listen, but so far away from your touch and you only have so long with them." he says and I look over at him.

"I think better at this time, nothing can cloud my head as much as it would during the day. I let it all out at night through music. I love the silence, it's that feeling of being alone but knowing you aren't actually alone. like you said, it's serenity."

"yeah." I whisper and he looks back at me.

i clear my throat and go back to looking at the sky. scared of what could happen if i stare too long. I've never been good with feelings.

he still looks at me, but soon his attention is back to the sky and we sit in comfortable silence once more.
