Nicolas gently kissed the top of Shantelle's head as he rushed past her, the keys to his Aston Martin in his hand.

"Nicolas, where are you off to in such a hurry?" She called, her morning cup of coffee in her hands, as she sat at the dining table, having her breakfast.

He hurried to slip his leather jacket on in the front hallway while looking at his hair in the old antique mirror hanging on the wall above the side table; his parents had given him as a housewarming present.

"I have to take Delphine for her twenty-four-week ultrasound, Mon amour" He called, putting his wallet and iPhone into the pocket of his jeans "I told you that didn't I?"

"Yes Nico, you did sorry, it just slipped my mind!" Shantelle answered

"Well, you've had a lot on your mind lately, beautiful!" He smiled "trying to plan and arrange our upcoming engagement dinner and plus our engagement party, you've got jobs already at your workshop, Victoria is staying with us...oh and don't forget my Father is coming to take you out for lunch and to help you pick a venue for our engagement party!"

She smiled back "How could I forget that I have the pleasure of spending time with your Father today, Nicolas Jean?"

Nicolas laughed and joked "you know, I think Dad loves you more than I do Shantelle Alissa?"

She smiled and said "Last time I checked I was marrying you, not Alain, Nicolas!"

"I love you Shantelle!" He called as he opened the front door.

"I love you too Nicolas!" she called as Victoria came wandering out still half asleep, her hair all messy.

"Morning Shantelle..." She muttered

"Morning Sister!" Shantelle said grinning as she sipped her coffee.

Delphine's Father watched from the front window as Nicolas helped his daughter out to his sleek black Aston Martin Vanquish.

Alain's son really was the perfect gentleman; he opened the door for Delphine and helped her into the low, expensive sports car, shut her door and then headed round to the driver's side.

"So how have you been Delphine?" Nicolas asked, as he indicated and pulled out of the driveway and onto the road.

She rubbed her stomach "Between the morning sickness and the news of your upcoming engagement party Nicolas, not that good..." she said coldly "You're really serious about marrying this Australian, aren't you? Think about US, think about the baby I am carrying...your firstborn!"

Nicolas counted to ten as he headed through the city to get to the Hospital where she had her scans and ultrasounds.

"Delphine, I'm not..." But then he slammed on the brakes to stop at a sudden traffic light that had turned red quickly.

The best thing about his Aston Martin was that it was brilliant at handling and braking, hence why he chose it when he first saw it at the International Motor Show his Father had taken him to last year.

"Are you okay, Delphine?" He asked.

"Yes, Yes, I'm fine Nicolas!" She lied, trying to calm down, her heart was racing a million beats a minute.

"You're not, you got quite a fright didn't you Delphine?" Nicolas asked

She held her hand over her heart and snarled "YES, of course, I got a fright!"

"You know my reaction speeds and skill Delphine, after all, I am a racing car driver..." he said, putting his foot down on the accelerator and shifting up into third as he drove through the now green traffic lights.
