Amber's Arrival

2 Months Later

Delphine checked she had everything in her handbag.

"I'm just going to pick up Angeline's birthday cake!" She called to anyone that wanted to listen.

The people that had made Shantelle's and Kimi's wedding cake had made a red, black and white Minnie mouse cake for little Angeline.

Shantelle came waddling out into the kitchen. She looked like death warmed up.

"Oh dear, Mrs Räikkönen.... you. look. DREADFUL!" Delphine said, feeling her best friend's pain.

Shantelle huffed and sighed, sitting down at the breakfast bar.

"I just want her OUT Dedeline!" She growled, trying not to feel sick.

Sacha's girlfriend saw the signs and searched the pantry for an empty ice cream container.

She just got it to the pregnant woman before she threw up.

Sacha and Kimi soon came into the Kitchen after hearing Shantelle was sick.

"Is it normal to have morning sickness with just four weeks to go til she's due?" Kimi asked Delphine while gently rubbing Shantelle's back.

Delphine frowned "no, it should have stopped at eighteen weeks at the latest Kimi; Shantelle may have caught a bug or something, maybe?"

"But Angeline's party! She's one!" Shantelle argued.

"Yes, but yours and Amber's health matter, Shantelle!" Delphine said.

"You look like you need medical help Kulta," Kimi said more than concerned. "Something is wrong...Dedeline I'm sorry but..."

"Get her to the Mater Kimi, Angeline will have plenty more birthdays, right now, Shantelle and Amber need help!"

Shantelle was starting to sweat and pant.

"I think I just had a contraction!!" the expecting Mother stammered, terrified.

Kimi was like a flash of lightning. Quick as ever he had Shantelle's bag in his hand and was helping her up off the stool she was sitting on.

"We'll ring Mum and Dad, Kimi," Sacha said.

"And please call my Mum, Sacha!" Kimi told his friend.

Once they were gone, Sacha held Delphine tightly while baby Angeline the birthday girl played with her new toys on the living room floor.

"Do you think she and little Amber will be okay?" She asked worriedly.

"Think positive Mon Delphine," he said, rubbing his hands up and down her arms as they gazed at sweet Angeline, who was smiling at them with her big beautiful brown eyes. "Amber is the daughter of Kimi and Shantelle Räikkönen Dedeline; she'll have a strong spirit and a lot of fight in her!"

"But how do you know Sach?" Delphine sobbed, she couldn't bear the thought of losing her best friend and the woman she proudly called her sister. "If Kimi loses either of them or heaven help, BOTH of them he'll..."

"Dedeline, Dedeline, Mon amour, ma vie, la femme que je veux passer ma vie avec, Shantelle et Amber sera bien! Ne pensez pas que ces pensées!" He said to her.

She smiled and hugged him, savouring the taste of his lips.

"I'm not going to lie, Kimi, Shantelle may lose her life giving birth to Amber..." The Doctor's words soon became a blur as Kimi pictured having to arrange his wife's funeral and burial.
