IX - "10 Million"

Diluc's POV
"C'mon, I'll help you with that." I took her last bag and put it on the carriage. "Thank you very much, Diluc." She said and smiled at me with a sweet smile. I don't understand how such a sweet and happy person could fall in love with such a sick petty criminal. I didn't think much of the machinations of the Fatui, but if I ran into one in the wilderness, I killed him, always.

I helped Y/N onto the carriage and sat down next to her, then we headed to Mondstadt. "I really appreciate your hospitality and I would like to say thank you again." I grumbled slightly, no need for her to thank me because she saved my life. I may not have looked particularly friendly, but I still had a good heart.

The rest of the ride was quiet and peaceful, but when we reached the gates of Mondstadt there was a big-hatted Fatui Harbinger. I groaned in irritation and we stopped in front of him. "That has taken a long time." the little man grumbled.

My blood was boiling and my whole body was tense, Y/N must have noticed. "As impatient as I remembered you." She smiled softly, he looked at the girl slightly irritated. I didn't feel like meeting any more fatui, so I hurried to unload the carriage.

I put the luggage in front of the feet of the little man in the big hat and he narrowed his eyes at me. "Do I look like a servant? I'm not gonna carry that shit up there."

With a sigh, I wanted to pick it up again but Y/N snatched it out of my hands with a nervous smile. "Thank you very much Master Diluc, I'll carry it from here."

"I told you to just call me... forget it." I adjusted my gloves and cleared my throat. "Take a day off work if you want." For a second, she seemed to open her arms, wanting to hug me but then instead the girl just shook my hand. I moved close to her ear and grumbled, a glare lasting on the Harbinger. "If you need help then blink twice."

"Don't worry, I'm a big girl." She laughed. I don't know how but her laugh and her smile could brighten everyone's day. I then understood why Tartaglia would not want to let her go, a couple of million mora was she worth to him.

"10 Million to be precise." The balladeer stood in front of me with his arms crossed, Y/N was carrying her bags on the way to the hotel. "What?" I asked.

"I know what you thought about, she's worth 10 million to him, even more. He really does want her back." He turned away with a whistle and I asked him, if he thought that the girl would get back to him on her own will. "Not if someone gets in the way."

I wanted to ask for the real reason why she came to mondstadt, I was aware that she didn't tell me the truth about it but the fatui shrugged and followed the girl, leaving me stand there at the gates.

Y/N's POV
"The room does actually look good." I said while I put down my luggage, the balladeer leaning against the door. "I picked the best out for you." I sat down on the bed and sighed. "They all look the same here." The young man shook his head and sat down on a chair across from the bed. "They all wear the same. That's boring."

He wasn't quite wrong though, they all wore the same outfit, the same hairstyles and the same jewellery. "Do you want to go out tonight?" Kunikuzushi looked shocked as soon as I asked that, then a smirk already across his face. "You're asking me on a date?"

"Not a date, I just want to go out and drink with my best friend." I put him in the friendzone again, over and over but he kept flirting or making some dirty comments. I didn't mind but if the ginger found out we both would be dead. No...

It was none of his business anymore, he cheated and not only once. 'Thank you for those beautiful nights...' If I thought about it, I could throw up. Those nights belonged to me and only to me. How was he able to look me in the eyes after all what happened? Didn't he feel any guilt for what he's done?

The seal on the letter was from mondstadt, it had a windwheel aster stamped in, they only grew in mondstadt so all I had to do now was finding Venessa and...

Yes. I had to find her, but I still had a couple of months left before I would return to Snezhnaya. "Alright then, angel's share I suppose?" The Balladeer cleared his throat, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Yes, Angel's Share..."

I am sorry for the late update, I didn't have any ideas how to write this chapter so my friend helped me out a bit. I'm trying to upload at least one chapter per week, when I've got my creative phase then I might also upload twice a day but that's rare
Anyways so, how's your luck on the current banners? (Hu Tao and Yelan) I've been trying to get Hu Tao, even bought a couple of blessings for her but all I got was a furry... Last time I got the red head for the third time. Pain. I hope I'll still get her before the banner ends, I even farmed everything for her😭
