Tiring Day

[[ again, I have no idea what to title this. Enjoy :)]]

I woke up feeling refreshed, which is weird because I've only had 6 hours of sleep. I sat up and stretched.

I stood up and felt around on my nightstand. Last night, I was too tired to find a space on my shelf, so I just put the lock picks on my nightstand.

I picked up my lock picks and walked across the room to my shelves. I felt for a space and placed the metal rods there.

I put my hand on the wall to guide me to the door. I opened it then closed it behind me.

I walked over and sat at my desk, then felt for one of my braille books.

Because Seek wasn't here, I guessed that it was too late for him to visit me before we start our tedious jobs. It's not our choice though, as, if a human escaped, they would tell all the other humans strange, murdering monsters lived in the abandoned hotel. Then, they would use their most powerful weapons to finish us.

Suddenly, I heard the infamous double doors being opened. There was no knock, and I didn't sound like seek, so I assumed it was an invading human. That's weird... They don't usually come this soon.

I immediately got up from my chair and ran over to the human. They must of managed to sneak right past me, as I didn't hear them when I approached the doors.

I ran round a bookcase, to see if I could locate the human, either by touch or sound.

I heard footsteps over by my desk. I sprinted over there, obviously scaring it. I heard louder, heavier footsteps, meaning they were running as well. I was quickly able to catch up to the human, grabbing it with my long arms. I ripped off its head with my teeth, then devoured the rest of the body.

THEY WON'T STOP COMING!
It was one human after the other. Usually, I would have at least 10 minutes to catch my breath, but today, I didn't even have five seconds. And the one of the other things that made it worse, is that most humans were in a group. Because of that reason, a lot of humans were getting past me.

I just prayed that Figure, or anyone else, was able to kill them.

The amount of humans was crazy. I hardly had time to think. On top of that, some groups had somehow acquired a crucifix. When they used it on me, it felt like someone was stabbing me with a knife, which made me weaker for the rest of the chase.

There seemed an unusual amount of humans. Usually seek or the other entities kill them first. I was kept busy for most of the day, so it went pretty quick.

Even though I had all that energy this morning, I was quite tired out from chasing humans. I knew seek was going to come up to my library soon as he always does. So I just sat down and waited.

Seek pov

finally... The last human. I slowly trudged back to my hallway. All I could do when I got there was sit down with my back against a wall.

I closed my one eye and tilted my head back, and tried to figure out why there were so many humans.

I was interrupted by a few entities coming through the door. I Looked up to see Rush, Ambush and Jack. They all looked pretty tired as well.

"do any of you know why there were so many humans today?" I asked.

"yes it was unusual, I hardly ever have to help out rush, but today, I was all over the place!" Jack said and Rush gave him a " -_ - " look.

"no, but really," jack continued, "I read in a book I borrowed from Figure's library, that one a year humans have a day where they dress up a scary things. Other humans were going to abandoned places, probably like our hotel."

[[yes I know, its not October. I just couldn't think of another reason for there being so many of us. Just- idk ig they have a different timeline to us pls forgive me]]

"yea, it sounds Like it could be that." agreed Ambush.

"I think I'm gonna go rest in my room now," sighed rush.

"me too," said Jack.

"me three," said Ambush, "have fun out there seek!"

They all went through the door and slammed it behind them. What Jack said was the only conclusion we had, so we may as well believe it.

I shakily stood up and slowly plodded over to the door. Even though my legs really hurt, I still wanted to go and see figure.

I kept walking through the, what seemed like, endless hotel. I finally got to door 50.

I taped my knuckles on the wooden part of the door to let figure know I was there. Then, I grabbed the handle and pushed it down to let myself in.

"hello Seek," the taller entity said.
"Hi Figure," I said back.

I went over to where he was sitting at his desk, and sat down in the chair I pulled up yesterday.

"is it me, or was there an unusually high amount of humans?" questioned Figure.

"yes, I thought so too. I didn't even have time to breathe before the next human was running down my hallway." I answered, "Jack said that he read a book in your library that said once a year, humans would dress up and some would go to abandoned places, like our hotel."

"well at least it's over now." said Figure, trying to cheer us up.

"im pretty tired, is it okay if I get some sleep?" I asked nervously.

"yea, sure no problem."

I allowed myself to relax in the chair. I saw Figure reaching for his book. He opened it and started reading. I closed my eye and tried to get some sleep.
