Seek pov
The next day...Us entities had just recently finished our jobs for the day. I was in the library talking to Figure.
Suddenly, I heard door 50 being opened. I immediately assumed it was another entity, but they didn't announce themselves, or at least say hi so Figure could recognise their voice.
"who's that?-" Figure asked.
I walked round the desk and peered behind the book shelf. My eye widened as I saw that it was a human, crouching down in a corner by the doors.
What were they doing here at this time?
"it's a human!" I said under my breath as I pulled my head back round the book shelf.
"hide. I've got this." Figure replied sharply.
I quickly followed his orders, diving into a wardrobe behind the desk as Figure ran towards the human. I could see slightly through the crack between the two doors.
I was excited to watch Figure kill a human, as I have only ever heard stories from him about how he does it. I thought it would be pretty interesting to see how a blind entity managed to murder people. Personally, I think it's quite impressive.
I had heard from Figure that the humans needed to find specific books that contained special numbers and letters, then a decoding piece of paper that would help them figure out the code to door 51.
I didn't get how the humans managed to find those specific books though, as whenever it would pick one from a shelf, it just looks like an ordinary book.
Figure nearly caught the human, he was a few feet away from it. He must of not realised though as he walked in another direction. I so badly wanted to help him, but I knew he could do it by himself, so I resisted the urge.
I watched as Figure moved across the wooden floors. It was mesmerising to see.
He occasionally let out a roar, which echoed across the library.
[[HELP WHAT DO YOU CALL FIGURES NOISE THINGY HE MAKES!!!?!?!? 😭]]
Figure often turns around to check if the human is following him, which is something I would have not thought to do. Well, I guess you learn a lot of things when you do the same thing everyday for years.
By now, the human had collected 6 books. I saw it creep round the desk infront of me, and quickly stand up to pick up a piece of paper. I could faintly see some squiggles on it, which I assumed was the stuff to help decode.
Figure almost flew down the stairs of the library, as the human had made a noise with the paper, alerting Figure of its position.
Scared, the human stood up to run away, but obviously they didn't know how fast Figure can be if he wants to.
Figure sprinted after the human, getting closer by the second. The human tried to dodge between book cases, but Figure caught up. I saw him grab the human with his long arms, bite the head off, then toss the rest of the body onto the ground.
For some reason, any dead bodies would just disappear after a few seconds, which was good because it meant that we didn't have to find a place to put dead, rotting bodies.
I opened the wardrobe door and got out, closing it behind me.
[[seek came out]]
"that was really cool!" I congratulated.
"really? Thanks. You probably do better than me since you can actually see."
"don't say that!" I ran over and held his blood covered hands, "you can see just as well as all of us! You just see differently: you use other senses like sound and touch!"
"...I've never thought about it that way, thanks Seek."
Figure pulls me into a tight hug. I rest my head on his shoulder.
After a few minutes, I pulled away and went over to look at the clock, as I was sure no humans should be coming at this time.
"that's weird," I stated, "it's half five, I wonder why that human was here."
"maybe it couldn't find the key for one of the rooms before your chase."
"maybe,"
I heard the library doors open again, but this time I knew it wasn't a human as the entities announced themselves.
"hey Figure! hey Seek! Me and Halt have just come to have a look at some of the books." announced Screech.
"yes that's fine, take your time," Figure said.
The two entities floated over to the bookshelves by the stairs and started looking through the books.
I could hear them muttering quietly to themselves, but I couldn't quite make out what they were saying.
Screech quickly found a book and came back over to Figure, holding it with one of his tentacles.
"I found a book, it's called '200+ knock knock jokes'," said screech.
Halt hovered over to us. "I found one as well, the title is 'why the rich guy bought twitter.',"
"no problem." Figure said.
"byeeee," screech shouted as they walked to door 50. Screech made sure to slam the door behind them.
"does screech always get books like that?" I ask.
"yea," Figure replied, "one time he borrowed a book about pranks and said that he needed to get revenge on Rush for scaring him."
"I wondered why there was a chair up against his door two weeks ago."
"did screech really do that?" Figure laughed.
"I guess so,"
Figure walked over to the desk. He felt for my chair and moved it next to his creating a sort of double chair.
He sat down and I sat next to him. He picked his braille book up off of the desk and flipped to the page he was at.
"can I read you some of my book?" Figure excitedly asked.
"please, I'd love to hear you read!"
Figure placed his finger on the top line of the page and started reading. I closed my eye and rested my head on his shoulder.
I didn't think about anything else. Even though I hardly knew what was going on in the book, I relaxed and listened to Figures silky smooth voice.
[[ hello. I struggled getting this over 1000 words but I persevered for you guys <3.
TYSM! 250+ reads! Thank you all so much I didn't think I would get this far this quick but here I am. :)
