Grace sat beside Ghost as she smiled, the sight of Charlie with her tape player made her happy. She felt as Ghost leaned closer into her, his shoulder against hers as he watched her movements.

Charlie looked on in confusion as a Shadow stopped their car at the entrance of Alejandro's base. "Charlie...stay inside," Soap whispered while getting a suspicious feeling.

"What's this?" Alejandro asks. Graves steps out of the car in front of them, "this is the immediate future, step away from the gate,"  Graves began. Ghost got out of the car and so did Grace, she looked at the Shadow solder standing behind her and got a bit nervous.

Soap glanced over at Charlie who was in the tinted-windowed car, she began to get nervous. "What?" Soap questioned. "You heard me," Graves responded. "You're crazy, this is my base," Alejandro said in shock. "It's not a base...it's a sizable covert facility and I admire it...so I'm taking it," Graves said with no emotion behind his voice, "you boys have been relieved. Thank you for your service."

"No, no, no I don't take orders from you," Alejandro said. "Didn't Valeria say that? Now that makes me wonder what else I don't know about your affiliation with a drug-lord?" Graves said with a smirk on his face. As he spoke Charlie opened the car doors, "what's going on?" She asked. Soap grabbed onto her and made sure she was close to him out of the fear of what Graves would do to her.

Alejandro chuckled, "what the fuck did you just say to me, pendejo?" He said, getting up in Grace's face. Soap stood closer, "you're out of line, Graves." "Don't do that...Don't...do that," no one needs to get hurt here," Graves interrupted Soap and looked at Charlie as he spoke his last part.

"Are you threatening us?" Ghost said, his voice echoed through the night as he immediately began thinking of ways to protect Charlie and Grace from harm. "Soldier, I don't make threats, I make guarantees. So let's not do this." Graves said in a pissed off tone of voice.

"I'm calling Shepherd", Soap said as he began walking back to the car. "General Shepherd sends his regards," Graves calls after him. Charlie froze, her blood ran cold as only one word lingered in her mind. Enemy. Graves was an enemy, no longer her friend.

"He told me y'all wouldn't take this well," Graves continued. "He knows about this!?" Ghost says in shock. "He's put me in command of this operation from here on out...so y'all need to stand down. It's time to let the pros finish this," Graves answers in shock.

"I'm sure Keller  is willing to explain it on the way back, right?" Graves says, grinning at the blond woman. "I had no part in this!" She shouted back at Graves, who gave her a small chuckle. "And why the hell are we all talking like it's some kind of negotiation, it's not, I've got my orders, and you have yours," Graves angrily shouts.

"And who the fuck do you think you are, canbron? My men are inside!" Alejandro yells. "I'm afraid not, your men have been...detained," Graves grins a bit. Alejandro paused for a second before lunging forward and attacking Graves.

"ALEJANDRO!" Grace shouts as Graves pins him to the van, detaining him. "Graves, what the fuck!?" Soap yells, a Shadow opens fire and Soap uses another Shadow as a meat shield, "CHARLIE, GET BEHIND ME!" Soap yells as Charlie scurried behind Soap. Grace pulls out a knife and stabs the Shadow behind her in the eye while Ghost stabs the Shadow in front of him in the neck.

The sounds of gunfire and a sudden cry of pain caused everyone to freeze as Grace felt a cold blade be dug into her gut, she collapsed to the floor as Ghost shouted, "NO!" He grabbed her and took cover behind a car. Grace gasped in pain as her glasses fell to the ground, the lenses shattering on impact.

Charlie grabbed a gun and watched as Soap is gunned down, shot in his arm. "Soap!" She shouts, "Go Johnny! Get out of there!" Ghost shouts, "take Charlie and go!" He yells, Soap doesn't move but Charlie grabs ahold of him, dragging him down a ditch as they fall down, losing the shadows and Graves.

"You there, Ghost? That was a big mistake, brother," Graves said, assuming the silence behind the car meant Grace Keller had been killed. "It did not have to be like this-" Graves froze once he saw that both Ghost and Grace were gone... "Son of a bitch," He mumbled.

Ghost ran through the streets of Las Almas, avoiding Shadows and trying to keep Grace alive, eventually he reached a church. Ghost didn't believe in god, with all the things he's been through as seen? He doesn't believe in a single thing.

But today? He was praying just for Grace to make it through the night. He ran inside and began to go climb a set of stairs into a secret area. Grace cried out in pain as she held her stomach, blood poured out of her wound and onto her shirt and hands. Ghost was in shock at the sight of his friend in this much agony.

"Gracie", he said, she looked at him with tears rolling down her cheeks. Her hair soaking wet from the rain and her glasses nowhere do be soon... "I'll kill them, every last one," Ghost growled through his teeth,he pulled out a Mrs kit from his pocket as he began to apply pressure to the wound in order to stop the bleeding. He took off his gloves and began to stuff the wound with gauze pad to stop bleeding.

"Simon," her voice called out, her words almost a whisper as Ghost froze and looked at her. "I can't feel it, I...I can't feel it anymore," she said between her teeth, Ghost stayed silent, he continued to try and help her but knew she lost a lot of blood. "Ghost," she corrected herself, watching as he shook his head. "It's Simon right now, Gracie," he said as Grace nodded slowly.

"I don't wanna go, Si," she began to feel herself go numb as Ghost shook his head, "no...no we're gonna make it, Gracie." Grace shook her head as Ghost spoke, there was a long pause between the two before Grace spoke again, "you we're so grumpy when we first met...what happened?" Grace tried to become lighthearted as the gauze began to work. Ghost watched in fear as he properly laid her down, "I got to know a wonderful woman who cared about me," he said with a hint of fear in his voice. "Was it me?" Grace asked, only to receive a nod from Ghost.

"You're blond," Grace said as Ghost froze before nodding, "dirty blond," he spoke. "I was right... you have brown eyes, too... what kind of nose do you have?" Grace asked, her body began to shake a bit as Ghost watched, not knowing if his friend would die or live.

Grace looked back at Ghost as he grabbed the top of his mask and began to pull it off, revealing Simon... the man she knew better than anybody. Grace smiled, "just as I suspected," Grace said as Simon felt tears prick his eyes...he couldn't lose anybody else... he couldn't lose her.

"Get some rest, Gracie, okay?" Ghost said, hoping that either Grace would pass away easily in her sleep or sleep off this battle wound. Grace's eyes closed as she exhaled, bringing herself into slumber. Ghost watched her and began to let the tears fall down his face, but he never made a sound.

He leaned forward and kissed her forward, he held onto her hand as he sat beside her in the cold church. Everything seemed to freeze in this moment, a moment he wished would just end so he could watch Grace smile once more.
