Queen of Joseon

CHAPTER SEVEN

Queen Jennie's POV

I do not understand why this woman kept avoiding me. Ever since I helped her in our  ideas, she began to distance herself. I thought if she travel with me, I will get to know her reasons but she's so hard to approach. When we finished discussing our prepositions with the elders, I went to her cabin. I was about to open her door but I heard her said about a names I don't recognize. She said she wants to go home. 

I'm confused why do I feel like this towards her. Her oddness makes me confuse. She was supposed to respect me but when we're alone, she seem to not think highly of me. I don't know why, I'm not mad when she calls me Jennie. It's sounds beautiful when she calls me. I know she doesn't belong to this period but I want to make her feel comfortable here. I hope she can see what I will do. 

When we got attacked, I can't let her see I felt scared for a moment. I can't show her my emotions. I'm not a weak Queen and I will never show to anyone my expressions. I have been keeping my emotions for a long time, I can still keep it. I got curious when I heard the Royal Guards scream and shouts after the attacked and when she went there. I'm still wondering why they act  like that towards Chaeyoung. I asked her about it but she gave me a vague answer. I ignored her and I walked towards the Palace of Goguryeo Kingdom. 

I sat down infront of the Crown Princess. I saw her looked erotically on Chaeyoung. Why does she have to look at her while smiling mischievously? I also saw her stopped her eyes on Chaeyoung's lips. I decided to greet her and introduce Chaeyoung as she seem interested on my advisor.

"Good evening Crown Princess, I, Queen of Joseon Palace is here as for the purpose of the message I have sent you. And this is Park Chaeyoung, my advisor." I said and she looked at me then to Chaeyoung.

"I hope you had a safe journey Her Majesty. You are very much welcome in this Palace. I, Bae Irene of Goguryeo Kingdom is please to see Her Majesty the Queen of Joseon Palace. Same to you Lord Chaeyoung." She said and Chaeyoung decided to bowed at her.

"This man is grateful by the Crown Princess warm welcome." She said which made the Crown Princess smile again. 

"You don't have to be so polite Lord Chaeyoung, you can be at ease." She said and looked at me. "I have read your message Her Majesty. I will just have a few questions about it." She said.

"I will answer the Crown Princess truthfully." I said coldly. 

"Joseon Palace has its resources, minerals and landscapes larger than Goguryeo Kingdom. As far as i know, Your Kingdom has established a developed system which makes you stronger than you think. Why would you want to have alliance with a country like Goguryeo Kingdom?" She asked. 

"Goguryeo Kingdom has also its strengths. This Kingdom has never been defeated to a war. The status you have established is developed as Joseon Palace. I would like to offer you some of resources every winter as drought and starvation commonly happens as this season." I said confidently. She nodded and looked at Chaeyoung. 

"Then what do you need from this Kingdom in exchange of resources when winter comes? Any suggestions Lord Chaeyoung?" She asked. I saw Chaeyoung say confidently and had her chin up. 

"Joseon Palace needs tactics and knowledge about combats and fighting. The Crown Princess seem to follow the footsteps of His Majesty, you are diligent as His Majesty and Joseon Palace need a support from the skills of the Crown Princess. This man suggest the Crown Princess to make alliance with Joseon Palace and protect each other's back. That will be all Crown Princess." She said and looked directly on her eyes. Why did they have to looked directly in each others eyes? I'm not comfortable by this. I don't like how the Crown Princess looked at Chaeng.
