Queen of Joseon

CHAPTER NINE

Chaeyoung's POV 

I woke up early before someone will barge in here and coldly woke me up. I wore my robe and my hat. I walked out of my room and went towards outside to wait for Jennie. I patiently wait when I saw Irene smiling towards me. I smiled at her too and bowed my head. 

"Good day Crown Princess. Are you here to send me off? How gracious you could be?" I said and we both laugh. 

"You really like to play around Chaeng. I'm also here to send off the Queen not just you. Here she comes." She said and i looked where she look. Whoah, Why my eyes are getting blurry but it's clear when I look at Jennie? Is this really a sign that I like her? Yeah. I like her. I like the Queen of Joseon Palace. 

"I'm grateful Crown Princess for accepting our prepositions. I will do my best to maintain our strong alliance. I must say we have to leave early as I am needed at the Palace." She said coldly with a straight face. She always do this when she talk with others.

"I'm grateful as well Her Majesty. I would like to send you off and make sure you will leave safely from Goguryeo Kingdom. Chaeng don't be hardheaded and listen to Her Majesty." She said and bowed to Jennie. I smiled at her and bowed at her.

"You don't have to worry Ire-I mean Crown Princess. I will listen obey Her Majesty. We shall leave at once Crown Princess. I am grateful to be your friend, hope we see each other soon. I must wrote a letter for you." I said and she nodded at me. Jennie leave while I'm talking with Irene. I was about to went to the Royal Guards carriage when someone told me to go at Jennie's carriage. I sighed and walked towards to her carriage. Another breathless moments with Jennie.  

"Why are you going to the Royal Guards carriage? Just because I let you sat with them doesn't mean you have to settle on their carriage." She said coldly and I ignored her. I don't want to deal with her questions today. Even though I like her doesn't mean she can accuse me. I'm still slightly mad about last night and I want her to apologize but if she didn't so be it. I won't apologize either but I don't think I can sulk for any longer. When we arrive at Joseon Palace, I promise to tell her how I feel. 

"What's with you? I've been receiving usual response from you. You don't answer me and you kept sighing. Tell me what is it Chaeyoung. I want to know what you're thinking." She said with calm voice. I sighed and decided to tell her. 

"It's about last night. You accused me of having a night with the Crown Princess. Did you know what I gathered last night before you went to my cabin? You can't accuse me of things I told you I would never do. Jennie you made me so confused last night. Is accusing me the only reason you went to my cabin? Or you want to tell me something?" I asked bravely. Then she looked away from me. 

"I went to your cabin so I can avoid you from having a rumor with the Crown Princess. That is the only reason I went to see you. I guess I'm late as you two already met before I went in your cabin. I'm not accusing you Chaeng, I was asking you a question. For what you gathered last night I already knew about it before we arrived here. I knew they will attack me as a New Queen of Joseon Kingdom. I'm prepared for their next attack." She said which makes me mad but I calmed myself as I don't want my emotion control me. 

"You knew? Yet you still went here even you knew they will kill you? Are you out of you mind Jennie? What if something happened to you? Why are you keep doing this to yourself Jennie?" I asked softly. 

"Because I'm a Queen and I must protect my Kingdom even it cost my life. I will protect Joseon Kingdom at my last breath." She said coldly.

"I understand Jennie but this is not a way of protecting Joseon Kingdom. It's a torture to yourself. Do you think you can still protect the people of Joseon Kingdom if you don't breathe anymore? Do you think what will happen if you died and it's because of a rebellious clan? It's war and chaos Jennie especially now that you had great alliance. I talked with the Crown Princess, I asked if she could teach the Royal Guard and any able men to fight and be prepared in a war. She won't be able to go at Joseon Kingdom but she will sent someone to help us. I will also look for military tactics. I'm asking permission to help in assisting the Joseon Army and Royal Guards." I said confidently.
