Tucker was coming out of the bathroom getting ready for bed and I was contemplating asking him to go get the ice cream or not. Tucker was so handsome. He had soft wavy, blond curls and blue eyes. He was a walking ad for the story book husband. He provided for us and loved me unconditionally; he always knew the right thing to say. I was admiring him from afar while still thinking of the ice cream. As he neared the bed he saw my face and my mischievous smile and knew instantly I wanted something.

"What is it tonight, Emma?" he said almost as a complaint.

The craving out won the fear of making him upset to go get my latest craving again. "I could really go for some of Mrs. Hamby's peach ice cream." I said with a grin that I knew would win him over with.

He sighed, but with a smile. He slowly got dressed again, grabbed the keys and gave me a goodbye kiss and headed out the door to pick it up like he had done multiple nights since finding out I was pregnant.

I was left alone. We had a small house a couple blocks from the beach. We had both grown up in a coastal town in South Carolina and loved it here so we decided to plant our roots in our home town. Tucker was brought up very well off whereas my family never knew where our next meal was coming from. But Tucker had decided to give all his inheritance up when he chose not to work for his father. So I ended up being a school teacher after college and he had gone into management and was working at the local bakery as a store manager. We definitely didn't make mega bucks, but we made it. Tucker still had a trust, but refused to touch it. We got married right out of college and wanted to start a family as soon as possible. So, we did exactly that.

I was sitting there waiting for my ice cream, which normally took like ten minutes for him to return with, but not tonight. I noticed twenty minutes had went by and I texted him, but no reply. I was flipping through channels on the TV. I landed on the news and noticed there had been a wreck on Huley Bridge and instantly thought he must have got caught in the traffic. That was when I heard the knock on our front door, I jumped up and ran to see who it could be so late in the evening. I thought for a second maybe Tuck had forgot his keys, but knew he had them with him since it was on his key ring for the car.

But it was neither, instead I was greeted with Officer John and another younger gentleman I did not know. Instantly my stomach turned, by the look on their faces it was bad news. As he proceeded to tell me it was Tucker in the car accident I fell to my knees not knowing how to process the words coming out of his mouth. How could it be? My Tucker, my forever, was dead.
