Abigail had done exactly as I told her and she sent me the details of the gala. My assistant took care of everything for me. I had a couple shows in the last two weeks but I was definitely ready to head back home for the gala and hopefully for the chance to see the girl who held my heart. I had already decided on the song I was going to play. Even if she didn't show up I felt like it was a worthy cause.
It had been a month since our amazing night and my dick was getting tired of my hand and yearned for the real thing. I had multiple chances to take women home or to a back room at the shows, but no one compared to Emma. I was literally ruined if I couldn't convince her to give me a chance. Even if it was just friendship, then maybe something else down the road.
I got back to my hometown and my assistant had booked me in an room at the Inn and it was really nice. I started to get dressed. This was a black tie event, which meant if, big if, Emma was there she would be in an elegant dress and dressed to the nines. I knew I had to look my best ever to try and get her attention. I get dressed in my suit and took my guitar and headed to the car.
I arrive at the event center and Abigail meets me in the back and she looks great. I give her a kiss on the cheek and she looks hungry and not for food. I try to brush her off to head in and she stops me to give me instructions.
"We actually decided to go a different route and we didn't name our special guest. So you are technically a surprise guest. We need you to hang out backstage until more arrives."
I try not to get upset cause I am trying to do something for a good cause, but at the same time I am biting at the nail to see if Emma is in there. I don't want Abigail to be too suspicious so I don't ask her. "That's fine. If it's ok though I may go to the curtain just to peek and see who's here."
"Of course, Luke! I can't wait to announce the special guest. Maybe after the gala we could catch up."
I smile and say, "maybe." Knowing good and well I am hoping I am catching up with Emma.
I go to the curtain and peek through the crack and look through the crowd. It takes all of five seconds for me to spot the most beautiful woman at the gala. Emma has on a gold floor length tight fitting sequin dress, she looks elegant but sexy at the same time. I, of course, am already responding, but it quickly fades as I realize she is talking with a gentleman that I have never met or seen in town. He looks to be in his thirties, so he is older than us, but she seems to be laughing with him. I miss those laughs and honestly I am getting jealous that those laughs are not with me. I watch as she touches his arm and I am boiling. Where did this guy come from. Were they on a date? This can't be. I walk away before I am reluctant to walk out there and kiss her in front of everyone to claim her as mine. Tuck got her last time but no one will have the chance to take her away from me this time.
I go sit in the room they have the band waiting in until I am called. When I get on that stage I am singing the song that was my start to fame and that I wrote for Emma years ago when I should have claimed her then and she wouldn't be going through everything she is today.
