I don't know how I got so lucky. I think I had secretly wished that I would run into her while out on the road, but had set my expectations low. She looked better than she did before. It's like she had maybe gained a couple pounds, but they sat just right in her curves. I couldn't help but get a little jealous as she was with a male, but she clarified that quickly.

After leaving the market I rushed to my hotel room and started getting dressed. I felt like a kid on Christmas morning. I don't even know what I am going to say, but whatever it is it has to be strategic because I don't think I could handle losing her again.

Being out on the road the past couple months have kept my mind busy, but not busy enough. I had thought constantly of Emma.

It was 4:30 and I wanted to be there early so I left out and drove down the road to the diner we were meeting at. I pulled in the parking lot and saw she was already there. Was she as nervous as I was? I parked right beside her and we both popped out of the car at the same time.

"Hey," she said shyly.

"Hey." Gosh this was awkward, but I was just so thankful to see her and smell that same fruity scent as she walked by. I opened the door and we walked in and found a booth. It wasn't nothing fancy, which was probably best cause it was dead, which was great, hopefully no one would recognize me and ruin my time with Emma.

The waitress came over and didn't even look at us. We ordered our food and drinks and sat in silence for a couple minutes and she finally started the conversation.

"So you're finishing up your tour? I thought it was only for the summer?"

"Yea, well when things ended the way they did I didn't have nothing else to do so they extended it. Honestly, it was great to keep my mind busy." I half smiled.

"Luke, I am sorry how it ended. You were wrong in not telling me, but I shouldn't of got mad at you for Tuck's mistakes. I am coping with things a lot better and I realized along the way it probably wasn't easy for you decide which side to take."

"Emma, I wanted to tell you when it happened, but Tuck made me think it was a one and done. And made me promise not to tell you. I have felt so guilty for holding it in for so long. That's why I came back to Summer Bash to tell you and hoping you could forgive me and give me a chance at at least being your friend again."

"I forgive you. It will take time to fully trust you again. I have missed you. I didn't think it would be so easy to have this conversation, but it was. I hope we can continue our friendship."

She emphasized friendship and it sucked knowing she probably wouldn't want me in a romantic way again, that I had betrayed her. I smiled back at her though, "I would absolutely love that."

We finished eating and kept talking and catching up on everything. She told me she had bought a house on the beach and spent most her time there or volunteering at the local hospital. Same Emma, but she seemed more confident and happy. She was glowing. When we were walking out we stood there awkwardly and she finally chimed in.

"Do you want to come see my house before you head back to your room? I've got an amazing view and South Carolina beach has nothing on this one."

"I would love to."

We rode separate. When we got there we pulled in her driveway. It was amazing. It was nothing big, but it was beautiful. I know I shouldn't think this, but all I could think was how did she afford this. We get out of the car.

"Emma, this is beautiful."

"It is isn't in. Come in and I will show you the back porch and view." She opened the front door where I was greeted with a fresh cotton smell and a rustic, beach vibe if that's even possible. She walked me out to the back porch and it was stunning. We were arriving just in time for sunset too.

"You want some wine or a beer?"

"I'll take a beer." She grabbed me a beer and herself some wine. We sat on the porch side by side and I put my arm around her because it just felt right, but she didn't argue. We just sat in silence listening to the waves and watching the sunset. Emma had finally found peace. I could tell. We laid there for what seemed like hours and finally Emma sat up and turned around.

"Luke, I have sat here this whole time contemplating if I am doing this right and for once I am going to stop thinking and do what my heart wants me to do. I want to kiss you..."

I barely let her finish before my lips crash into her. We kissed passionately, there was no neighbors in sight as I looked around. She finally straddled my lap and started to take her top off and I took her bra off. I missed her beautiful body. I took my shirt off as well. I picked her up and carried her to the bedroom where we took the rest of our clothes off. I positioned my self over her looking into her eyes and started slowly rocking into her. I had missed her so much. She started to moan and whispered, "Luke." She started to come undone as did I. We laid there heavy breathing and heart beating fast.

I rolled over and kissed her again and whispered, "I Love you, E."

"I love you too, Luke."
