It used to take my breath away
I used to shiver in your touch
And melt when you kissed me
But you have this way of making me disgusted
Making me feel like I'm worthless
Without ever uttering a cruel word
Instead it's your actions
The things that go unsaid
That wound me the most in this relationship
I think of you as vain and selfish
You care so much about what others think and say
Yet you care so little about what comes from me
You still wear your past lives like badges of honor
Your midnight escapades
Your thrilling mistakes
You parade them in moments when your friends all watch and you think I'm not listening
You are a hurtful creature
A poisonous creature
A monster that sleeps in the bed with me
A fire that had burned me
