I watch him sleep
Every movement of his chest
I watch him sleep
Every breath he takes
I watch him sleep
Ball of energy all day
But at night he sleeps
Not a sound but his breathing
In so deep
Only five years old but he is so sweet
The days are rough and school is hard
But at night he has peace
Mommy mommy
Is everything he needs
I do get frustrated sometimes I want to scream
But at nights it's quiet and then I think
The silence can be deafening
And all I can think is how I can't wait for the morning to hear him speak
Mommy Mommy please help me
But I'm great full for the night
Just so I can
Watch him sleep
