A/N: changes have been made that will change the story. Please re-read.

Liam didn't know why he was nervous. He'd spent the last two hours showering, shaving, face care, putting on cologne and picking the perfect outfit. This wasn't a date, this was a party. Other people would be there.

So why was he so nervous?

His phone rang and he was it was Theo. He picked it quickly, unable to wait a second longer as the suspense of waiting was killing him.

"Hey, you ready?" Liam started to nod before realizing that Theo couldn't see him.

"Uh, yeah. Are you here yet? You got my address right?"

"I'm here and stop stressing about it. This is gonna be fun." Theo laughed and Liam felt his stomach do a flip. He tried to chalk it up to nerves.

"Alright, I'll be down in a second." Liam hung up, grabbing his jacket and rushing down the stairs at top speed.

"Where are you going?" His step-dad asked as he put on shoes. John was the best father figure he'd ever had, even if they weren't related.

"I'm hanging out with some friends."

"Mason?" John raised an eyebrow. Maosn was his favourite friend of Liam's.

"In a bit. Theo Raeken's driving me to hang out. He's the guy who drove me to the hospital yesterday." Liam avoided eye contact with John as he grabbed the spare keys and a box of mints, for some reason.

"Oh yes I know him. He used to be in the hospital a lot. Constantly sick and his astham? God, it was terrible. There were sometimes we thought he wouldn't make it." This happened sometimes to John. He would get stuck inside his head for a few seconds, remembering the worst moments of his job before snapping out of it. "Glad he's doing better now. Go have fun, I'll tell your mom when she gets home."

Liam waved goodbye as he opened the front door, rushing down the driveway to where he could see Theo parked. It was a nice car, better than nice. Silver and sleek.

"Woah, sick ride dude." Liam exclaimed as he sat down in the passenger seat.

"It's my dad's. I swear he loves this car more than me. My truck's in the shop right now." Theo chuckled starting to drive the car with GPS giving him directions. Silence fell between them and Liam found it even more unbearable than usual, like his emotions had been turned up to 100.

"Who's gonna be here? At the party?"

"Everyone. Juniors and seniors mainly but probably some sophomores and freshmen." Theo shrugged, "do you not like big crowds?"

"Not a fan. I prefer chill stuff but Mason's been pushing me to be more social." Liam felt like he could be honest for the first time. He tried to keep up a popular jock appearance majority of the time, maybe some of the shit he'd gotten from his biological father.

"Who's Mason?" Theo asked, hoping to keep Liam talking.

"My bestfriend since uh... since diapers." Liam chuckled, "he's like my brother."

"I have friends like that. Family that isn't blood."

"Yeah. Like packs," Theo felt his head whip, shocked as Liam continued, "in wolfpacks, they aren't always blood related but that's their family."

"Oh. Yeah, exactly. Sometimes, I think all I have are my friends, considering the fact that I've never had anyone else." Theo chuckled and Liam felt nervous. Theo wasn't wearing the same outfit from earlier but it wasn't much better. It was a loose croptop that looked like an old jersey cut in half with a sweater and jeans.

"No girlfriend?" Liam asked, feeling anxious. He wasn't sure why the question had so much weight to him.

"Nope. I'm gay." Theo looked over to Liam who looked slightly embarrassed, "I don't really hide it but I don't usually dress like it at school. No gay flags all over the place, you know?"

"Cool. Do you have a boyfriend?" This time, the question felt even more weighted. Why did it matter if Theo had a boyfriend or not?

"Also no. I've never been someone who can really keep relationships sadly. Probably a childhood thing that my parents instilled in me." Theo tried to laugh but it had sadness to it, "What about you? You got a girlfriend or boyfriend?"

"No, I don't." Liam debated telling Theo that he was questioning, worried about how Theo would react to it for some reason, "I'm uh I think I'm straight."

"Good for you." Theo smiled tightly, gripping the steering wheel even tighter as jealousy seemed to overtake him. The smell hit Liam, who was confused about what on earth it was.

"Do you smell that?"

"Smell what?"

"It smells like... um a little sour and kind of bitter but also sad in a way?" Liam suggested and Theo realized what had happened. He took control of his emotions, dialing it back before giving Liam a confused look.

"Sad? How does something smell sad?"

"I don't know but it's gone now." Liam looked embarrassed, "I'm sorry."

"Don't be sorry, it's fine Li. We all make mistakes."

"I lied." Liam blurted out and Theo was now genuniely confused, "I'm not straight. I'm bi but I'm not out to anyone. I've only been with one guy and it didn't end well. I haven't told anyone."

"I'm proud of you for telling me, takes a lot of energy to come out to anyone, especially the first time." Theo flashed him a geniune smile and Liam felt butterflies in his stomach again. "You also didn't lie, you said you thought you were straight."

"True. If I can ask, when did you realize you were gay?" Liam was slightly curious about his expierence.

"I kissed a girl when I was fourteen and I hated it. I actually threw up right after, and now just because of the acohol." Theo didn't know why he was telling Liam this, he hadn't even told Scott and Stiles the true story of what had happened, "I thought that maybe it was just that girl until a few months later, I kissed one my bestfriends in a game of truth or dare. I didn't like him but it was nice, like an actual good kiss. I realized I was gay and began to test it by hooking up with random dudes at clubs and school. No one ever stuck around though."

"Thanks for telling me. I'm just..." Liam took a deep breath, "I'm really struggling with a lot of stuff right now. My emotions are really weird and having to deal with questioning my sexuality is just making it all worse." He teared up slightly, "I don't need to be crying in the car of some guy I just met but here I am."

"It's fine Li. Really, it is." Theo was driving slow enough to be able to lean over and grab Liam's hands, squeezing tightly. "I promise you, everything will be fine eventually."

Theo felt his heart sink as they realized they arrived at the lakehouse, empty and secluded from everywhere. He had lied to Liam. Liam had poured his fucking heart out to him after Theo had tricked him into coming out here so they could stop him from causing porblems he didn't even know about.

"Hey Theo," Liam's voice was slightly cracked, "Where is everyone?"
