Liam woke up, his head spinning slightly. His vision was a little fuzzy as he squinted, looking at the horizon. The sun was rising over the lake. He tried to move yet realized he was stuck, chained down to a wooden pole.
Last night came back all at once. He remembered the drive perfectly, trusting Theo and opening up. When they walked into the house thought, everything had changed. Theo, the kind and caring boy who had carried him to the nurse's office and just talked to him about the thing he was keeping most secret, had lied to him. There was no party, everything had been a ruse to get him to this stupid lake house.
He remembered jumping onto him, slashing at his skin, not caring if he would heal. He wanted Theo to hurt as much as he did. The tearing pain in his chest, the gut churning feeling of not being able to trust someone you'd just told something you guard close to yourself. Liam had tried to kill him. Something had stopped him though, the way Theo's voice sounded when he begged him to stop. When he said sorry. Then darkness until he woke up here, a bloody and broken Theo attempting to help him through it.
How dare he? As far as he cared, Theo was the reason he was in this mess. Maybe it would've gone differently if Theo hadn't lied to Liam but it was too late. It didn't matter that he'd said sorry, or that he'd been the one talking him through the full moon. Theo was motivated by guilt and Liam knew that for certain. If he truly cared, he wouldn't have lied to start with.
Liam twisted and turned, looking for a way to get out. He saw Theo and his heart stopped. He was laying on the ground, on his side and with his eyes closed. Liam couldn't tell if the wounds were open or not but blood was all he could smell. It was overwhelming him as he stared at the still form of Theo, panic and bile rising in his throat.
"Theo?" Liam called out tentatively, "Theo?"
Nothing. Absolutely nothing.
"Theo! Theo, wake up! Wake up!" He started thrashing against his chains. Had he killed Theo last night? Was it just a delayed thing? Did he bleed out while Liam yelled about how much he hated him? "Come on man, wake up! Theo!" The door to the boathouse opened and in walked Scott, Stiles, Malia and Kira.
"Shit. I told you we should've checked on him." Malia cursed, rushing to Theo's side while Kira came over and untied Liam's bindings. "Theo? Wake up man, wake the fuck up."
"Fuck." Stiles swore, standing back, "Fuck he's fucking dead, isn't he? Oh my God, I'm gonna throw up." Liam felt his heart sink as he watched Stiles cover his mouth, "There's so much blood."
"If that kid fucking killed Theo," Malia growled, "I'm gonna skin him alive."
"Malia." Scott said sharply but Liam could tell that he was still hoping that Theo was alive.
"Huh?" Liam heard a groggy voice and relief flood his entire being, just as the last of his chains were untied, "What's up guys?"
"Jesus Christ Theo!" Malia cried, trying to sound angry but her happiness was evident. Liam ran over, seeing Theo slowly sitting up, his wounds nearly completely gone. "You scared me."
"I'm fine M'lia." Theo hugged her, his voice slightly muffled, "I just enter a really deep ass sleep to heal appearantly."
"I still might throw up," Stiles joked, pushing past Liam to give Theo a hug, "I really did think you were dead."
"Thank god you're okay." Kira was smiling widely.
"Glad we didn't lose you Theo." Scott helped Theo up to his feet while Liam stayed deathly silent, Theo hadn't even looked at him yet. "Had us worried for a second. We couldn't hear your heartbeat or anything."
