"Shit." Theo cursed, hitting the table with his palm. This was bad. Definitely bad. "So this is a deadpool? And the passcode was Allison?"
"Bad vibes all around." Stiles nodded, "Also we've done the math-"
"I've done the math you mean." Lydia interepted, crossing her arms.
"Yes Lydia, you did the math, alright? Can we please talk about the money and the murders now?" Stiles rolled his eyes. "This is only a third of the list. It accounts for a third of the money taken from the Hale vault."
"Oh shit. So someone stole the money and is now paying people to kill supernatural killers. Professional killers." Theo tutted, looking at the list. His name was in bold with twenty million written next to it. Liam Dunbar's name wasn't on the list but Lydia, Kira and Scott were.
"One of them is gonna be at the game." Stiles admitted and Theo's head whipped towards him, shocked.
"Aren't Scott and Liam playing? Tonight?"
"Kira and Isaac too." Lydia paced, fidgetting with her hair and rings. "He rejoined the team this morning after Coach hunted him down."
"I'm playing too!" Stiles added.
"You aren't supernatural, you'll be fine Stillinski."
"Yeah well I dont feel fine Theodore. I feel like there's going to be a killer at a goddamn lacrosse game!" Stiles snapped, giving Theo a stink eye. Theo debated punching Stiles again since he couldn't really stop him.
"Alright, cool down the testosterone guys." Lydia rolled her eyes, walking inbetween them. "I think it's time we had a pack meeting. Liam included. See what everyone knows."
"I'll get Liam, you guys call Scott and the others from... the animal clinic? I assume." Theo pulled out his phone, beginning to text Liam.
"Are you sure you want to deal with him? He's a ticking time bomb." Stiles asked and Theo froze in his tracks. The fuck was Stiles on?
"What are you talking about?"
"He's an IED. Literally an IED. Scott really messed up with giving werewolf powers to Liam." Stiles was laughing but all Theo could feel was rage.
"I don't care. Fuck off."
"Woah, calm down. I'm just saying we're playing against Devonford Prep tonight and it got messy when he saw their captain Brett." Stiles raised his hand in surrender while Theo tried to get ahold of his emotions, "Scott and I had to hold him under cold water until he calmed down enough to not turn into a wolf at school."
"I can help him." Theo stalked off but thanks to werewolf hearing, he didn't miss the last parts of their conversation.
"Stiles, that was pretty messed up."
"What does he mean that he can help Liam? Liam nearly killed him on Friday." Stiles was frustrated, "Scott's his alpha. He can help Liam."
"Please do not tell me that you're actually this dumb." Lydia was growing impatient with Stiles and Theo really could not blame her for it.
"What do you mean?" Lydia walked away from him, "Lydia! What do you mean?"
------------
Theo found Liam where he found him on Friday, working out in the gym. He wasn't alone this time though, a few of his friend were working out around him. All sophomores actually. Taking a deep breath, Theo walked over to Liam.
"We need to talk." He talked quietly, grabbing Liam's arm and turning him around to face him. "Now."
"Fuck off." Liam tried to shrug him off but Theo kept his grip.
"This is an emergency Li. We have to talk."
"I don't care." Liam growled and Theo saw his claws come out. They needed to leave.
"Lydia cracked the code. It's a deadpool of supernatural creatures." Theo watched Liam's eyes grow wide with fear. "One of the killers is on the lacrosse team. Stiles was looking at the bodies and figured it out."
"Shit." Liam cursed.
"Hey what's going on here?" Some blonde guy walked up to the two of them, staring at the grip Theo had on Liam's arm. "You good Liam?"
"I'm fine Garrett." This time, when Liam shook off Theo, he let go, staring at the blonde kid. There was something off about him. He didn't trust him, at all. "Just some uh..."
"History related. I need to bump my grade and I heard that Liam's the man to go to." Theo smiled tightly, lying to this random little shit with ease.
"Aren't you like a year older than us?" Garrett asked him, raising an eyebrow.
"A little slow, aren't you?"
"I'm gonna go." Liam walked out of the gym, grabbing Theo's wrist for a few seconds before letting go. He took that as a signal to follow him out of the gym and outside.
"Your friend sucks-" He started only to be shoved aggressively by Liam. "The fuck?"
"What the fuck was that about?" He shouted, pushing him again.
"Your friend sucks. I don't trust him." Theo retorted, rolling his eyes.
"You're not one to talk about trust Theo. You lied to me, alright?" He was trying to calm down but his anger was getting too much. Theo could sense it. "I don't want to hear a thing out of you ever again."
"Liam," Theo grabbed him gently and pulled him to the side of the school, out of view, "You need to calm down. You're gonna shift."
"Shut up." Liam growled, panting slightly. "I- I'll kill you."
"You already tried that, didn't work." Theo added, "I need you to take a deep breath."
"Fuck off."
"Or don't." Theo added, letting go of him. "I can't stop you."
"You did on Friday." Liam was breathing heavily, claws digging into his palm. "Do it. Do it again."
"What?" He was slightly confused.
"I need you to calm me down asshole!" His eyes were flashing between yellow and their regular color. He was on the edge of shifting.
"Alright um," Theo stumbled, "Tell me about history. You like history."
"Icarus." Liam was speaking between gasps right now.
"Alright, tell me about Icarus."
"He flew too close to the sun with wax wings and they melted. He fell to his death, drowning in Aegean." Liam doubled over and Theo touched his back softly, "He stands for hubris or overreaching oneself."
"Got any other stories?"
"Athena. The story of the spider." Liam was slowly becoming calm again. "Arachne was a girl who could sew anything. She bragged too much and Athena challenged her to a competetion in which the loser would never weave again."
"Who won?" Theo wasn't just trying to calm down Liam, he was geniunely interested in what he knew and loved when it came to this.
"Athena of course. She's a god." Liam's breathing was becoming more steady, "She felt bad for Arachne and turned her into thef first spider so she can still weave beautiful designs."
"Is that why we call them arachnids?" He gave a tight nod in response and stood up, blood dripping down his wrists. "Feeling calm enough to walk to the group meeting?"
"Yeah. Thanks." Liam thanked Theo, refusing to look him in the eyes.
