i wake up the next morning at around noon. asami's already at work and korra was in the living room, i think.

i walk out into the living room with messed up hair and residue from my makeup.

i was too tired from last night to take it off.

"good afternoon." korra smirked with a cup of tea in her hand.

i roll my eyes and walk over to her. i plop down on the couch right next to her despite all the space there is.

i snuggle into her side and her arm goes around my shoulders. she pulls me closer and kisses my forehead.

"how'd you sleep?" she asked.

"amazing." i sigh out.

she hums in response. i still have my eyes closed, as i haven't adjusted to the sun yet.

"what do you wanna do today? you go back to work after tomorrow." she asked.

"i don't know. can't we just stay in today?" i ask her.

"you sure you don't wanna go outside? take a walk maybe?" she asks.

"ugh why?" i groan. she laughs and i smile, feeling the vibrations against my head.

"cause human interaction is healthy. also, i have to do grocery shopping." she says. i look up at her.

"we just went a couple weeks ago." i said.

"it's been a month."

i blink at her. "huh. i didn't notice."

she smiled and rubs my shoulder. "stay here. i'll make you breakfast." she kissed my forehead one more time before getting up from the couch.

"i'm fine with just a bowl of cereal." i sighed out, curling into a ball in the corner of the couch.

"i was just gonna make some toast and have you spread the butter yourself." she shrugged.

i laughed out. all this time and she still can't cook. she gets nervous just putting bread into the toaster.

after sitting on the couch for another minute, i got up to take a quick shower and get dressed to eat the toast korra made.

once i ate, we left the apartment to walk down the street.

we would have taken mango but korra suggested i let her stay on the island to spend time with the other bison.

i can't argue, mango's like a giant cat. she's only ever awake if i need a ride or if she's awake. and even when i need a ride, she won't wake up for like twenty minutes after i say something.

korra and i walk to the outdoor marketplace for groceries. it was in the town square and a bunch of people were selling goods out of decorated wooden booths.

we separated when i got distracted by a booth that was selling honeycomb.

"that's edible?" i ask the old man working the booth.

"yes. would you like to try it? i have samples right here." he smiled and wobbled over to the side where he had a tray with little honeycomb pieces laid out.

they all had little toothpicks sticking out of them and i took one.

"they're very sweet and the texture might be a little intimidating, but it does make for a nice little snack." he said.
