opal was about eight hours into labor and she was not having it with anyone.

the only people she didn't yell at were korra and her doctor.

not even bolin and he did everything to try and make the birth as smooth and painless and calm as possible.

i told him it's normal and to not take it personal, but he felt bad.

me and my brothers, except for bo because he insisted on staying outside opal's room in case she needed him, were sitting at a picnic table outside next to a playground where a bunch of kids ran around.

tenzin and pena had came with the kids and we were watching them get all their energy out.

even syaoran. he never acts like a fourteen year old with his youngest sister. he chased her around the playground, pretending to a dragon or some other creature they made up together.

naoki and blossom were playing in the sandbox a little ways away.

"i'm so hungry.." mako whined. he looks over at me. "how many coins you got?"

"uhh.. i have two and a button.." i muttered as i dug through my coat pocket.

he groaned and let his head fall on the table.

"we had a small breakfast. just some fruit and bread before we rushed over here." jiang explained.

"the hospital can't be all that bad. just go get something from there." i shrugged.

"mako thinks it's a conspiracy to keep hospitalized people in the hospital." jiang shrugged.

"seriously?" i laughed.

"it's ridiculous." he chuckled.

"i hope you both die." mako groans.

i laugh and look over as syaoran comes up holding his sisters hand.

"hey, mama. i'm kinda hungry and so is yasuko." he says.

she nods frantically. "alright, you're in luck. uncle mako's starving too. how about we go get some lunch and come back later." i said.

"let's do it. we can go to your restaurant." jiang said.

"yes, please. i want seaweed noodles." he complained.

"alright." i chuckled. i stand up and jiang calls the girls over so we can leave.

i remember seeing asami walk into the cafeteria with suyin to grab opal a meal as mako, jiang, the kids and i were on our way outside.

so i know opal's good for food, but i'm gonna bring her back some dumplings just in case she doesn't eat the food.

we sat down at a round booth at the restaurant and as i sat in the booth, i realized i hadn't sat down to eat here in over twenty years.

i'm always busy running the place instead of just enjoying the food.

we ordered some food and i asked for some extra dumplings on the side for opal.

the food for here a couple ten-ish minutes later and the kids were stuffing their mouths happily.

and so was mako.

they began to slow down once they were half way through their plates.

"what do you think uncle and auntie are gonna name the baby?" naoki asked blossom.
