we arrived at the island in the morning just in time for breakfast.

we settled into tonraq and senna's home before we all sat down to eat breakfast.

senna and i took the time to catch up while asami and korra talked about the itinerary for the day with tonraq.

who was just absolutely eager about it. so much so, he looked like he was about to doze off.

we were planning to tell them at dinner tonight, so korra's going to have to keep her mouth shut until then.

from the moment we got here, she was overly excited. even her parents were weirded out. but i just told them that she hasn't seen them in a while and she's really missed them.

senna seemed to buy it. and i think tonraq did.

"okay, yeah, we're gonna take these to the room." i said quickly.

"okay. i was just about to serve breakfast. asami, could you help me?" senna asked.

"of course." asami smiled. she followed korra's mom into the kitchen and tonraq went to help out too.

i took korra by the elbow.

"could you be any more obvious?" i snapped under my breath.

"i'm sorry! i'm just so excited." she whispered back. i laugh and pick up our things. she takes her share and we carry them to the extra bedroom.

we sort everything out before walking back into the kitchen to the familiar smell of soup.

"oh my god! i've missed your soup more than anything, senna." i sighed out. i run over to the table like a little kid.

"remind me to give you the recipe when you guys go back home." she said as she poured soup into a bowl.

asami was toasting some bread to go along with it. senna finsihed pouring a couple bowls and i help her hand them out.

soon, we're sitting around the table eating breakfast and i start to get memories from when the first time i was here.

for the glacier spirits festival and blossom, asami, korra, and i would sit and have a breakfast, just us girls. it'd be snowing outside and the igloo would be so warm.

ugh, i miss those times.

"so how's work? everything good?" tonraq asked me.

"oh, it's great. nothing really exciting but it keeps me busy." i shrugged.

"in republic city? i don't believe you." he laughs.

"i know. beifong's really starting to take her job seriously." i said sarcastically, pulling my knee up to my seat to sit with it folded.

senna never failed to make her house feel like home. every time i've been here, it felt like

"starting to?" korra snickered.

i give her a quick knowing glance before looking back.

"how is it working for lin these days?" tonraq chuckled.

"not terrible. she's been occupied with kya and not paying much attention to me." i shrugged.

"what about those rookies you told me about a couple years ago?" senna asked.

"well, they're not rookies anymore but she is all over them all the time. better them than me." i smiled.

he laughs softly. all these years, and i cannot get over my crush on korra's dad.
