now it's thursday and we're packing our things to sail to the south pole tomorrow night.
we're spending the weekend over there just because korra didn't want to go all the way over there and then come back in the same day.
as i was folding laundry in the living room while listening to the news on the radio, asami came in from the bedroom holding a magazine.
"oh my gosh, i just found the cutest baby clothes in this catalog. one of them is a onesie with little kitten-moths on it!" she exclaimed. she sat down next to the pile of unfolded clothes on the couch.
"what the hell is a kitten-moth?" i chuckled, holding a shirt and placing it on the coffee table.
"i dunno. tenzin told me it was a moth the size of a kitten and it was paws, a tail, antennae, whiskers.. it's a mix of the two." she said.
"hm."
"look at it. you're not looking!" she whined.
i laughed and took the catalog from her hand. i look at the little outfit for a second. "it's adorable, really." i chuckled.
"isn't it?" she squealed as i handed it back to her.
i smile at her excitement and continue folding clothes.
"you excited to tell korra's parents?" i asked her.
"yeah, sort of. tonraq's kind of scary. remember how he reacted when we told him about us dating?" she said.
"yeah, but he came around eventually. come on, he's just a big old sweet teddy bear. he'll be thrilled to know korra's havin' a kid." i said.
"you're right. i think i'm just worried about nothing." she said softly.
i glance and smile softly at her as she continues to look through the magazine.
"when should we start shopping for clothes?"
i chuckled. "maybe when you're nine months and not nine days?"
"i'm just a week or so along!" she laughed.
"alright, but whatever you want. you're the one with the money." i chuckled. i placed the folded clothes carefully into the basket to put them awaken my room.
"come on, what'd i say about money jokes?" she scolded.
"i know, but it was a lil funny." i shrug. she rolls up her magazine and slaps my butt with it as i walk away.
i laughed at her and continued my way to my room.
korra was putting clothes away into a suitcase.
"hey, i got some of your stuff here already folded." i sighed out.
"great, thank you." she smiled. she startes to put clothes away into a suitcase. i tilt my head to look at her face more clearly.
"you okay? you nervous?"
she looks up at me slightly. "sort of." she shrugged.
i sigh and take her hands away from the clothes. i hold them in mine and she looks at me with this shy expression, and she's never shy.
"what's goin' on? you worried about last time?" i ask.
"a little. what if my dad reacts the same way? i know he's always wanted grandkids, but what if he says something and.."
