The members of the student council all hopped off the school bus that had driven us to the amusement park.
"Student council works all the way here at an amusement park?" Ajin asked wearily as she stretched her arms next to me.
"I know right, so frustrating. I never should have joined...!" Yeseo pouted and turned her head to the side to look away.
"It's a shame, but you'll still have fun, I'm sure," Ajin replied to her.
Su-ae crept up from behind us. "Yeah, we're already here, let's have fun," she said, smiling at us.
A teacher who accompanied us on the trip called for the president and vice president of the student council to follow them; the vice president being Yeseo and the president being Minu. Yeseo sighed sadly and mimicked a tear rolling down her cheek with her finger. I laughed and patted her shoulder, sending her off.
One of our other friends, Minji said, "Minu, you take care of Yeseo. She doesn't have any friends there."
They left, and now the group of us grew smaller as different groups of friends had broken off into different directions where they were required to be.
"Woohoo! Amusement park!" Ajin, Su-ae, Minji, and I yelled excitedly in unison.
We ran off together and rode on various roller coasters. After the fifth ride or so, we all sat on a bench to catch our breath from the previous ride we had rode.
"What should we do next?" Ajin asked us.
"Hmm... Let's look around," I said as I watched Su-ae double over, dizzily.
We all stood up from the bench, our eyes searching for the next appealing looking ride. When we found one that we all thought was fun to go on, we filed into the waiting line for it. It only took about a minute of a wait because it was a school day after all, so the park wasn't crowded at all.
As the ride operator opened up the gate for the four of us to enter our designated seats, a man cut in front of me, rushing to sit in the open seat next to Su-ae. I was taken aback by this. I examined the man before walking away to sit in the seat behind Su-ae. He had tufts of straight blonde hair sticking out of the winter beanie that he was wearing accompanied by a long red scarf wrapped tightly around his neck. He wore a long winter coat on top of that.
I raised my eyebrow unconsciously. Who wears clothes that heavy to an amusement park, especially in this hot weather?
Nonetheless, I sat down on my seat and buckled myself into the ride tightly. A ride operator came over to examine the fastener on my seatbelt, and then he raised his hand up to another worker to signal that it was okay to start the ride. The ride was quite short, despite all of the loops and up and down hills we went on.
I unbuckled my seatbelt and stood up from the ride, stepping onto the platform while waiting for the others to join me. Su-ae stood up and walked over to me, and I looked back over to the ride to notice that the man who had sat next to her was completely gone. Out of sight.
How did he get off so fast?
I looked at the seat that he had sat on and saw a red scarf left there. The exact one that he had been wearing earlier.
I walked over to the ride and picked up the scarf before joining my friends again. It looked like a high quality scarf, so why not take it?
"Y/N, where did you get that scarf from? You didn't have it earlier," Minji pointed out.
"Someone left it on the ride and they're gone, so I'm going to hold onto it in case it gets cold later," I said as I shrugged.
