I hope you're happy...just not like you were with me and I'm selfish, I know, I can't let you go. - Olivia Rodrigo
Dex was fresh out of the shower before Liam, he always seemed to take those long ass showers So; instead of waiting for Liam, he decided to go ahead and get ready; He had bought a Dark gray suit with a gray button up. It wasn't anything too fancy, but it also was just right for a party like this.
As Dex was running his hand through his wet hair; trying to dry it, Liam walked in struggling with his tie. He groaned "Help please? This shit is annoying, why can't i go without it like you?" Liam whined as Dex sat the blow dryer down, knowing his hair would curl on its own. "Because you were invited to this thing, personally so you should look nice!" Dex helped him with the tie, giving him a small smile.
"Let's get going, the drive will be a little long, it'll help you with that wet hair style of yours too" Dex grabbed his keys as the both of them left their house, getting on Dex's bike and driving to this so-called engagement party.
Liam would be lying if anyone asked him if he was nervous because truth be told he was so anxious and nervous, he had no clue who this person was or why he would get that personal invite. He hoped it would be a good experience tonight, but something deep down told him that tonight was going to be something he will never forget, a night that would finally shatter him.

"Let's do this" Liam slid of the bike as they both was standing in front of the biggest house they've ever seen. "Dude this looks very rich..." Dex nudges his friend as they both walked up to the door, knocking on it.
A woman who looked to be in her mid-twenties had opened the door, she was actually stunning. A black dress had tightly shown of her curves and her blonde hair was tied up in a bun. She was a very rich lady by the looks of her. One thing that was noticeable was her green eyes. "You must be Liam! Hello, come in!" She smiled and pulled the door back; allowing both men to step inside. "The party has already started but my soon to be husband isn't here just yet. I've heard so much about you!" Dex was staring at Liam as Liam was now looking between both people. Very confusingly he asked "You must be max? I don't think I've ever met you before?"
She laughed while walking them to the ball room where her engagement party was being held. "Oh yes, i do apologize i was just so excited you decided to come, my name is Maxine Shaw but i go by Max for short" Liam was stunned by how beautiful the party looked, it was like a Prom but 100% more detailed and gorgeous. "So, I'm taking a guess it's your husband who knows my friend here?" Dex wrapped his arm around Liam, making him jump and listen back into the conversation. "You are correct Mr..?" She raised her brow "You can call me Dex."
He smiled as she continued "Dex. What a lovely name. My husband is very secretive around me, but I've heard him mention Liam's name multiple times and well seen him write it in his journal. There hasn't really been a day he didn't think of you. I was assuming you, Liam, was a very good friend of his so i wanted to surprise him by bringing you here."
"I can't wait to meet your soon to be husband then, call us over when he does show" Liam gave her a small smile "Of course, Enjoy the party you two" She waved as Liam turned to Dex who had led him to the table full of expensive foods and wine. "She seems nice but-" Dex cut him off "I'm sure she can be a bitch; most rich people are like that. From the way it sounds she seemed more than excited, she seemed suspicious of you." Dex mumbled as his eyes scanned the food in front of them. "I'm sure she was just excited Dex nothing more. Hey, did you bring any wolfsbane with you?" Liam leaned in and whispered the last part, gaining a small nod from Dex.

The party was going well, it's only been a few minutes in and both men was having a good time, they both needed this break specially Liam. Dex was now dancing with Liam, it was mostly slow songs that was being played at this party but every once in a while, there seemed to be an upbeat song and the people around them enjoyed those songs more than the slow songs.
"When did you get good at slow dancing?" Liam laughed as he let his arms rest on Dex's shoulders. "I took lessons with the elder wolf in my old pack, she was like a mom to me, and she loved to dance." he hummed as his hands was staying respectfully on Liams hips.
Before they knew it, they were sipping wine and enjoy their time a little much; that was until Max called them over, her husband had supposing just arrived and was preparing to come down to the party shortly.
