Please let me forget you
Stop the excavation into my heart
Stop digging into my soul
Let me forget you
Let my bones gather cobwebs in your absence
Let the dust gather in the spaces you no longer occupy
Let me entomb myself in my new life
And you can find discoveries in someone new
While my treasures lay buried deep within the walls of my mind
Allow me forget you
The words you carved into me will fade with time
The hieroglyphics you made up will find new meaning by new people
A new society will be borne in the wake of you leaving me
So leave and allow me rebirth
