Chapter 25

Swart had asked information from the CIA to know where Adan went to in his bid to catch Nada and he was told he was at the President’s Villa.

His entire family, excluding Hannah went to the Villa and were welcomed with the sound of gun shots.

With Swart’s military trained ears, they were able to know the sound came from the parking lot so they all ran there.

“Dad try to find Adan and stall him so I’ll find Nada. Daisy you do the same” Macleod said and they spread out. 

He heard Nada scream Daniel’s name and ran to the direction of her voice. He found her kneeling in the middle of the parking lot surrounded by blood. He wondered if she was hurt and rushed to touch her shoulder.

She raised her head to meet his eyes but the person he saw had the face of Daeva but he could tell she was a different person.
She picked up her gun and pointed it directly at him.

“This is your fault” she said.

Anyone she saw right that moment was going to take responsibility for Daniel’s death.

“Daeva” he said.

“That is not my name!” she yelled.

“Look I’m sorry but you’ve got to get outta here before Adan comes back. You’re obviously in no state to fight back” he said.

“I’m sorry for your loss but you have to go. I’ll take care of him myself, I promise” he added.

“I’m only sparing your sorry life because you said you would take care of this but if I find out you didn’t do as you’ve said I would really come for you and your family then” she said and ran out of the parking lot.

Macleod looked down at the body of Daniel and saw a man like himself lying dead on the cold ground because the kind of life he had chosen was crooked.

He dragged Daniel’s body into his car and drove off with it.

Nada on the other hand kept running out of the building to where the chopper was and bumped into Daisy in the process.

“Nada?” she asked.

“What the hell are you doing here?” Nada asked.

“Macleod said we should help. Whose blood is that on you?” Daisy asked.

“Blaze’s” Nada answered.

“He’s dead?” Daisy asked.

They heard Adan call out Nada’s name from behind.

“Quickly, go now. I’ll help you hold him back” Daisy said.

Without a word, Nada turned to her heels and walked out. As Daisy made to leave, Adan rushed in startling her.

“Adan” she said.

“Daisy, what are you doing here? Forget that, have you seen Nada?” he asked.

“Um, no” she answered.

“Darn it” he said.

“I have something to say” she said and held his hands when he tried to walk away.

“Daisy I don’t have the time for this” he said.

“Just hear me out first. I know you’re best friends with my brother and you’re like a brother to me as well so technically you’re family and I shouldn’t say what I am about to say” she said.

“What the hell are you talking about?’ he asked.

“I know it’s weird but I’ll still say it” she said.
