A resounding slap was heard from the walls of the President’s office at the Country’s Palace.

Jones, the recipient of the slap had shock written all over her face. Never in her life had a man raised his hands on her but for her love for politics and because she had to submit to the President whom the people obviously didn’t vote for, she had to swallow all kinds of abuse.

She was glad though that the other Ministers who thought it wasn’t right for a woman to handle the country’s finances weren’t in the room with her and the President at that moment otherwise, her embarrassment would have reached it's maximum.

News had gotten to the President that the Finance Minister’s daughter was a fragger and he thought he had every right to be enraged.

“You are a disgrace to the Country’s Palace!” he yelled angrily.

Jones took her hair behind her ears and smiled through her pain.

“How Mr. President?” she asked
“You’re asking me how? A child’s mistake is a Mother’s mistake especially when that child is a girl” he said and drank from his water glass to cool his rising temperature.

“I didn’t know you were this discriminatory against the female gender Mr. President" she said.

"Now that I’ve become a disgrace to the Country’s Palace and the Freedom People’s Party are you going to abandon me?” she asked.

“After all I have done and sacrificed for this country and our political party?!” she yelled.

“I am not going to abandon you Jones. I am going to kick you out of this country! Or to any place that doesn’t have a name if possible” he said.

Jones heard his tone loud and clear and she knew he wasn’t bluffing. He was going to do as he had said. She quickly fell on her knees and held onto his leg.

“What are you doing?” he asked.

“Please Mr. President, don’t do this. Don’t abandon me” she said.

“I’ll do anything. I’ll do all that I can to fix this. Even if it means me abandoning my own daughter I’ll do it. Please don’t abandon me now” she said.

He laughed at her words and tried to kick her off. There was no way she was going to be able to fix the mess she had created for him. People had died by her daughter’s hands. There was no way out of this tunnel.

“I’ll even be your dog. I’ll do whatever it is you ask me to do. Mr. President, if you ask me to bark I’ll bark and if you ask me to bite I’ll do it” she said and proceeded to use her hair to wipe his shoes.

Jones knew the President. She was supposed to be his running mate during the elections but since women weren’t highly favored, she settled for being Minister. She had worked together with him right from the State Parliament and she knew what he liked and disliked. She knew how she could get to him.

President Shawn Goetz loved it when the people who were under him graveled at his feet and acknowledged him as Lord over them. Jones had never let that happen before and that was why she was always on his bad side so if she showed him how much she respected him and would be willing to do anything to please him he was going to get her back on his side.

He bent towards her and pulled her head up with a scowl on his face.

“The reason why you think I’m too discriminatory against women is because you women don’t know your place. You all think you’re high and mighty and carry on the feminist course with all your power and might but the truth is, we all know what your real issue is. You all don’t know how to carry yourselves with dignity” he said.
