Lexa's hands now stinging, the blood still warm in her palms.
She walks in and Madi runs to her hugging her. "Octavia's dead!?" Madi asks worried and Lexa looks down to her. "No yongon. Octavia's okay." Lexa tells her and Madi looks up to her amazed.
Lexa walks over to Clarke who now had more energy and was sitting up drinking water. She looks into her eyes and Clarke softly smiles.
"Octavia?" Clarke asks hoping her friend was okay. "No one is dead Clarke. She put up a fight, a long one, but she is okay. As am I." Lexa says.
"Your hands? Again?" Clarke asks rolling her eyes looking at Lexa. She smiles downward and looks up.
More people have fallen ill and the building was full, people spilling out of the doors. Abby working tirelessly to save everyone she can.
"We need to help.." Lexa says looking around and Clarke nods.
"Madi grab Lexa some cloth," Clarke says and Madi does as she's told bringing it back to them.
Clarke reaches for Lexa's hand which is held out to her in response.
"Next time remember which side of the blade to grab." Clarke teases and Lexa looks up to her.
Clarke bandages both hands and takes Lexa's hand using it to stand from the table.
Her legs weaker than she had hoped stumbling into Lexa.
They connect eyes and Lexa blinks her tears away clearing her throat and stepping back, her arm still extended for Clarke to use as support.
"You two should go back to camp, rest there and return when you are able." Lexa suggests and looks to Madi.
"I'm fine.." Clarke says stumbling trying to take a step. "Clarke.." Lexa shakes her head knowingly and Clarke nods.
Madi takes over supporting Clarke and they head back to their own camp which wasn't too far from here but for Clarke it felt like it took hours, she had to stop a few times and rest.
Meanwhile, Lexa stayed back and tried her best to help.
"What can I do?" Lexa asks looking down at Abby who was on the ground working on her current patient.
Abby looks up to her frantically and gives her a small smile in appreciation. "This one here, in his leg." She says and Lexa grabs the surgical knife and cuts him open without thinking twice.
She spent hours helping the wounded. The sun had fallen and rose again by time everyone had been helped to the best of their abilities. It had been Lexa, Jackson, Abby, Niylah, and a couple other randoms trying to help.
"Anything more I can do?" Lexa asks Abby who was finally sitting, her head fallen in between her arms from exhaustion.
Abby sits up and looks to Lexa, standing up to embrace her in a hug.
Lexa hesitates but hugs her back. Lexa hadn't been used to this much affection being shown towards her by people.
Abby is Clarkes mom however and her approval means more to her than anything.
"Thank you Lexa." She says and pulls away cupping her face. "You are a good person." Abby adds looking into Lexa's now teary eyes.
"Clarke loves you more than I've ever seen her love someone. Don't give up." Abby whispers and Lexa swallows a lump in her throat a tear inevitably escaping. "I love her too." She says in a low voice. "I know." Is all Abby says before pulling her into another hug this time rubbing her back for comfort.
