hours had passed, the lot of us in a random club in brighton, drinking more drinks than i could count on my fingers. a night out with my closest friends was certainly something i needed, the amount of drinks however, i'd say i went slightly overboard.

"tom, tom, dance with me!" i shouted at my best friend over the loud music.

"no, no," he shook his head, "y'know i don't like dancing–" cutting him off, i took his hand and led him to the centre of the building, where countless people were drunkenly dancing and singing. "alright, fine."

tommy was slightly less drunk, whereas i was near enough on another planet. drinking too much was one of my bad habits, but the feeling it gave me made me want to do it more and more, doing everything i'd never even think of doing when sober.

bill, freddie and rue followed close behind, dancing together. tommy and i danced to the beat, singing along to the lyrics that i could barely understand, my ears ringing from the loudness.

"val, tom!" bill yelled, causing both tommy and i to turn to face the boy, "kebab?"

my eyes widened, and i quickly abandoned the idea of dancing to stroll over to bill, trying not to trip and fall over my heels. tommy followed close behind, almost barging into multiple women with his fast pace.

"yes, i want a kebab, where's my kebab?" i slurred, holding onto bill's shoulder for support.

"we need to go and get one, are you two coming?" rue asked, nowhere near as drunk as the rest of us, a rare occasion in our group's night outs.

nodding vigorously, the five of us left the club, huddling into a corner under a roof to hide away from the pouring down rain. my dress stuck to my body with sweat, so the coolness from the weather was nice. yet the wind only made the alcohol hit me more.

rue scrolled through her phone, finding takeaways nearby that were open. i leant against tommy, feeling my body somewhat start to tipple over. he wrapped his arm around my shoulder, holding me tightly to keep the both of us stable.

"okay, i've found one. it's two minutes away, are we walking or ubering?" rue spoke up, and we all shared a look.

"walking." i suggested.

"no," bill dragged his words out, "uber!"

"no, cause bill." i started, pushing myself up from tommy's chest. "if we book an uber, it'll probably take like five minutes to get here 'n stuff and then, like, we have to wait longer for our kebab, if we walk, we can get it in two minutes."

the explanation seemed to convince him, the five of us making the short walk to the takeaway. ordering the food with a few hiccups and slurring of the words disrupting us, we eventually ended up with our kebab's and chicken nuggets.

"this shit is good." i murmured, shoving another piece of donner meat into my mouth.

"real, bro, real."
