valerie slept comfortably in bed, the time reading seven thirty five am on the first of july. better known as her birthday. she'd been back from touring with tommy for exactly a week. speaking of tommy, as far as valerie was aware he was still sleeping soundly beside her like she remembered from the night prior. WRONG.

"happy birthday, valerie. wake up now, woman." he shouted, jumping on top of her. "VALERIE!"

"fuck off tom, what time is it?" she asked her boyfriend, stretching her muscles and pushing him off of her.

"like, twenty to eight." tommy answered, shaking her violently.

"tommy i love you but if you move me one more fucking time i'm going to twat you." valerie complained sternly, letting her eyes adjust to the bright sun shining through the window. "too early for your shite."

"just shut up and sit the fuck up, your mum is making pancakes and they smell really fucking nice." he grinned, watching his girlfriend sit up straight in bed, her shooting him a sarcastic smile. "do you have anything planned for today?"

"i don't, why?"

"good, basically, at half one, me, you and your mum are going to a restaurant for lunch because we can't do your usual birthday meal." he started, watching her eyebrows show confusion on her face. "because, at five rue and freddie are coming over, getting ready and then we're going out and all the drinks are on us."

"sounds good to me." valerie smiled, "i appreciate you a lot but please can we lie down because i am so tired and going to end up being a bitch all day if i can't wake up properly."

"no! c'mon, it's your birthday! i have got you presents downstairs, and my mum's sent you one, it came in the post like five minutes ago. c'mon, v, come downstairs."

with a huff and multiple complaints stringing from her mouth, valerie hesitantly agreed and followed the blonde downstairs. like every other year, the living room was decorated for her. balloons were scattered around, with huge rose gold '19' balloons right in the middle, just over her presents.

"thank you, mum, i love you."

"happy birthday, sweetheart." valerie's mother greeted her daughter, pulling her into a hug and placing a gentle kiss on her forehead.

it wasn't much longer until they'd finished eating and valerie was eager to open her presents. starting with the cards, she happened to open tommy's first. like every other year, it was a stupid card with an ugly animal in the front, however there was the most heartfelt message on the inside waiting for her. he'd kill her if she told anybody how soft he goes for her, so she tends to keep it to herself.

quick enough, she finished and rushed upstairs to get ready to go out with her mum and tommy, time was rushing by quickly and she wanted to give herself enough time. tommy sat behind her quietly for once, admiring her and paying attention to every individual step of her makeup routine.

once she'd finished, she found an outfit, deciding on a dress due to the heatwave in england, pairing it with her and tommy's matching converse. despite her claims, she refused to burn them over her minecraft parrot, yet she still doesn't forgive him.

"put the necklace i got you on right now, so ungrateful valerie, wow." tommy sniffled jokingly, lifting the box up.

"do it for me then, dickhead." swiping her hair over one shoulder to expose her neck, goosebumps arose on her skin to the feeling of his fingers going around her neck, clasping the necklace at the back.
