Well, so far things have been going quite well for Huckleberry Hound since he moved to California. He's found a new home in Hill Street Neighborhood, made some new friends, and entered a new career in showbiz, performing every week at the jazz club! Almost an entire month has gone by, but Huck still hasn't gotten a chance to explore the whole neighborhood. That's all about to change as he wakes up on this fine sunny morning.

It all started when he put on his bow tie and straw hat. He was just about to go for a walk, when he saw that he had something in his mailbox.

"Wow!" he cried when he saw all those letters. "I wonder who's been writing to me!"

He brought the mail inside and sorted through it. Yes, there were bills as usual, but when he got to the bottom of the stack, he could see that he had two letters! One from his mother, and one from his brother Jed.

"Golly! Letters from the family!"

He opened the envelope that his brother sent him, and read it to himself. "Dear Huck, just writing to say hello and best wishes to you in California. Hector misses you a lot already and he's always asking about you. I told him that you were off to seek your fortune, and I hope you find it. Next time I get a chance, I'll send you a copy of Great Great Grandma's recipes so you can bring a little slice of the ol' Huckleberry family tradition out west with you. In the meantime, you take good care of yourself, little brother. Wishin' you the best of luck. Your big brother, Jed."

"Awww, Jed, I miss him so," Huck smiled. "But it's great to hear from him!" Then he opened the envelope he got from his mother Sweetberry.

"Dear Huck," it read. "I just got the letter you sent me. It sounds like you're on a really positive path so far and I'm pleased to hear that you're doing so well. I hope you're taking good care of yourself. Make sure you're eating well, keeping clean and getting plenty of sleep. I know life in the city can become very hectic. But I believe that you've got what it takes. Just remember one thing I always told you when you were little: follow your heart, and always let your inner star shine. Keep up the good work, sweetheart. I love you and I miss you very much. Love, Mom."

Huck hugged his letter tightly. "Awwww, Ma'!"

He tucked the letters away in his drawer, then he looked in the mirror and gave his bow tie a tug before heading out the door. He then made his way to the park, where he met with his friends Yogi Bear, Boo-Boo, Mr. Jinks, Pixie and Dixie. They were already gathered there and waiting for him to arrive.

"Hi guys!" he called as he arrived at the scene. "Sorry I'm late! What's up?"

"Well, I'm just gonna fly my kite," Jinks replied. "Only problem is, I can't seem to get it off the ground!"

Huck scratched his head. "Let me take a look at it, Jinksey." He took a look at the kite, and saw a small hole in it. "Well, there's your problem, it seems. Don't worry. I'll fix it up in a jiffy."

Huck took out some tape from hammerspace and grabbed a piece. Then he placed it where the hole was and patted it down.

"There you go! Why don't you give it a try now?"

"Okay!" Jinks beamed. "Thanks Huck!"

"Anytime!"

So Jinks went to flying his kite while Pixie and Dixie rode around on their tiny little mouse-sized tandem bike, Yogi and Boo-Boo sat down to a little picnic of their own, and Huck sat against a big oak tree to read over one of his comic books.

"Hey Huck!" Yogi called. "You wanna come over and join us? We've got your favorite...chocolate cake!"

"Thanks fellers," Huck replied. "But I'll eat later. I'm not hungry right now."
