Chapter #23

No one's POV
Malia, Scott and Stiles rush towards the Salvatore school after Lydia.

"Lydia, take it easy!" Scott shouts after the girl while they enter the building. The four wander around the empty school in attempt to find someone they know.

"Where's everyone? It's like they cleared out the whole school." Stiles says as they look around the common room.

Lydia spots an auburn hair walking across the hall. She rushes towards the girl and taps her shoulder.

"Hope, hey!" Lydia says after the girl turned around, recognizing the Salvatore student.

"Oh, hey Lydia. What's up?" The Mikaelson asks surprised to see her roommate's sister here. She looks even more surprised when the other three teens walk behind Lydia.

"Have you seen Y/n? She's not answering her phone."

"She went out to jog, but that was a few hours ago. I thought she was with you..." The auburn admits getting a little anxious, looking between the four.

"Should we go search for her?" Stiles asks.

"Yeah, we should." Malia says as the two start walking towards the exit.

"Wait. What if she wants to clear her mind and just lost track of time? She could come back any minute, maybe we should wait..." Scott says.

"What if we split up? I can go search in the woods and you guys can stay here if she comes back." Hope proposes.

"Good idea. I'm coming with you." Lydia says to Hope before turning towards her friends. "You guys stay here and call us if Y/n comes back." She turns on her heels and walks to the exit, Hope being right behind her. The two girls walk outside stopping at the gates not knowing where to start looking.

"Which way should we go?" Asks Lydia turning to the Mikaelson while they walk outside the school's territory.

"I saw Y/n heading that way." Hope responds pointing to the forest on their right.

"Perfect. Let's go!" They start walking into the woods with their phone's flashlight on as the night has settled in.

They walked in silence for a while looking around for anything that might lead to the missing girl.

"How long have you been attending the Salvatore school?" Lydia suddenly asks breaking the silence.

"Since I was little." Hope answers walking beside the eldest Martin.

"Do you get along with the other students?" Hope stops walking turning to Lydia as she catches on what the Martin is trying to do. "Are you doing a background check on me?" She asks raising an eyebrow.

"Yep. Gotta make sure my sister's roommate isn't a serial killer." Lydia jokes but keeps a straight face while she continues walking. Hope chuckles but her smile fades as soon as she remembers the situation she and her friends are in with the skinless body. She pushes the tought away, shaking the image of the creepy body from her head as she continues walking.

Another 15 minutes have gone by and still no sign of Y/n. Lydia checks her phone impatiently every five seconds not recieving any word from Scott or her sister. The two girls are close to the town outside the woods and they stop looking around but not getting too far from each other.

Hope walks further from Lydia when she feels something caressing the top of her head. She looks up putting the flashlight on the thing above her, praying it's not a corpse. She sees a rope hanging from the tree beside her and the most frightening thought crosses her mind. What if something bad happened to Y/n?
