I'm in science class working with Liam on an assignment when I hear the door open, when I look up I see coach Finstock walking to the teacher.

"Why is coach here?" Liam whispers to me being as clueless as I am.

"I have no idea" I whisper back to him.

"Class, quiet, please! Mr. Finstock has an announcement to make!" Mrs. Finch says.

"Thank you, Mrs. Finch," he says to the teacher then turns to us "As you all know every year we have lacrosse games with other schools, here on our field. This year, the lacrosse team will leave Beacon Hills and will play somewhere else. Plus we're gonna play football too, that means today we're having football training!" He stops for a moment looking around at the students who are whispering.

"Great..." I hear Liam say under his breath.

"So, as I was saying, the competition will last one month and the players will stay with a family there. You will go to the local high school and after the competition, you have the spring holiday. I'll tell you the details before training." He turns his gaze to the teacher. "Thank you for your time, I'll see you after school." He says to us and then walks out.

"All right, let's get back to work." Mrs. Finch says.

I walk onto the field going to where I see Scott, Stiles, Liam, Corey, Malia, and Lydia arguing.

"Hey! What's going on?" I ask as I approach them.

"They're arguing about the trip," Lydia says rolling her eyes, clearly annoyed.

"We can't leave! We haven't figured out who the Anuk-Ite is!" Scott says

"Scott, you have to go, you're the captain!" Stiles says trying to reason with him.

"But what if I leave and somebody gets hurt... what if somebody dies because I wasn't here?" Scott says a little scared.

"Nobody is going to die, Scott. And the Anuk-Ite it's not your problem!" I try to calm him down.

"But we let it out..." before he can continue I cut him off.

"See, right there, there's the key word, we, it's OUR responsibility, not yours. We let it out we are going to find a way to get rid of it, but a part of us still has to go with the team, we're teenagers after all, let's have a little bit of fun. Just a little and if anything happens we're gonna find an excuse to come back."

It's quiet for a bit until Lydia speaks up. "Oh my God... my little sister just had her first hero speech. I think I might cry..." she teases me.

"Oh, shut up!" I reply hitting her arm playfully.

"No, but Y/n's right! Scott, go with the team, they need you. Me, Corey, Hayden, and Mason can stay." says Liam

"Are you sure?" Scott asks him

"Yes! And if anything happens we're gonna have backup from Parrish, Argent, and even Theo until you get back. Don't worry!" Liam answers, sure of himself.

"Ok, but keep us updated," says Scott

"No problem and Lydia's gonna be here too so..." Liam answers but Lydia cuts him off

"Not a chance, if Y/n's going I am too"

"Lydia, I'm gonna be fine!" I try to negotiate with her, but she's too stubborn for that.

"Nope, I'm coming with you. Plus I wanna see the game and a trip will be good."

I sigh "You won't change your mind, will you?"

"No, it's an argument you can't win." She says with a smirk knowing she won.

We turn around when we hear coach

"Is everyone here? Yes, no? It doesn't matter, let's start!"

We all look at Liam waiting for him to do something, he frowns "What?"

"Go up to the coach and tell him you can't go!" Malia whisper-yells at him impatiently.

"Why me? Corey could do it!"

"Not a chance, it's your plan!" Corey says.

"Ugh, fine!"

"Excuse me, am I interrupting your little chitchat?" Coach says annoyed.

"No" "Sorry coach" we apologize while Liam slowly approaches Mr. Finstock

"Um, coach?"

"What do you want Dunbar?"

"Me and Corey can't go..."

"And why's that?" Coach asks crossing his arms over his chest.

"Um well, o-our grades are dropping..."

"If you get good grades there you'll be alright, plus it's the last month of school before the spring holiday and you can get good grades after."

"Coach, you don't understand, we really can't go."

"Ugh! I hate kids! Fine, if you find someone good to replace you, you and Bryant can stay"

Liam looks around him and pulls Malia in by her arm "She's pretty good"

"What?! No!"

"You're the girl that replaced Ms. Martin when she couldn't play?" Coach says pointing at me.

"Um, yeah?" Malia answers not sure what the coach means by that.

"Perfect! Dunbar, Bryant you two can stay, I'm pretty sure she can win a game with her eyes closed! Not like you two." He tells the boys who are now offended.

Malia gives Liam a death stare and growls at him making his facial expression change into fearful and a terrifying one. I giggle trying to not burst out laughing at the scene and thank god Lydia interrupts.

"Coach, can I come too?"

"You've started playing lacrosse?"

"No, but my mom wants me to go with Y/n, and since she's the principal... You get my point." She says acting like she's some kind of princess making me roll my eyes.

Coach scoffs "Fine, you can come too, anyone else? No? Good, let's begin." He looks down at the tablet, which I now see he has, scrolling on it. "So, we're going to Mystic Falls and you'll go to the local high school. Ok, first, McCall and Stilinski, you'll stay with the Hamilton family, Lydia and Malia you'll stay with the Salvatore family.."

He tells everyone the family they're staying with and he finally gets to me.

"...and Y/n you'll stay alone with the Saltzman family at the Salvatore school, so I guess you can choose which school you'll attend. The competition will take place at the Salvatore school and the trainings at Mystic Falls High. We're leaving Sunday morning. The first match will be on Tuesday. Now get your asses on the field everybody and give the girl some equipment!"

It's already night and I'm home searching on the Internet about Mystic Falls to my surprise there are many myths and stories about supernatural creatures. I hear the door open, but I don't look up.

"Hey, what are you doing?" I hear Lydia say

"Did you know that there are myths about vampires, werewolves, and even witches in Mystic Falls?" I say pretty excited.

"But they're only myths, Y/n. There are no such things as vampires." She says sitting on my bed.

"Yeah, but werewolves are very real just like banshees, kitsune, and kanima..."

"Ok, maybe there is a chance that they are real, but I don't think we'll meet one..."

"There's still a chance..."

She giggles as she stands up "Ok, go to sleep now. Good night!"

"Night!" I say as I put the laptop on the bedside and then get in bed properly. She turns the lights off then closes the door and I immediately fall asleep.
