We arrived at our new home.

I looked around the house, this looked like a mansion!! "Bloody hell, mom. Are we rich?"

Mom chuckled. "No, I wish." She took our luggage. "Come on, then!"

I giggled and grabbed a bag. "Are peoples accents weird?"

"No, different to ours, though." Mom replied.

I nodded. "Mom, your alone. I'm going to a shop to find British accents."

Mom looked at me like I just ate a bowl of dirt as I ran as fast as I could to a random shop, it was Sainsbury's, I walked in and thought thought what to get. "Milk." I smiled and grabbed milk and walked up to the checkout. "Hello."

The man smiled. "Hello, to you too."

My jaw dropped. "No, way."

He scanned the item. "What?"

"Nothing." He hardly sounded British, sure, he didn't sound American.

The man smirked. "Your not from here, are ya?" He asked.

I nodded as I passed him the money. "I'm from America."

 He smiled. "America, hmm?"

I nodded. "Bye!" I walked off.

As soon as I got home, I looked up. "Mom?"

"Hmm?" She turned around, as she was unpacking.

"When am I moving to my new school?"

"On Monday."

I gasped. "MONDAY!?"

Mom nodded and came over to pat my head. "I start work on Monday, also."

I buried my face in my hands. "Mom, I-I am gonna get made fun of!"

Mom shook her head. "I got an American accent, too. Just to say, some things may be different, like mom will be mum! Eggplant will be aubergine, math will be maths, understandable?"

I look down towards my feet. "I guess..."

"And if your told to draw the country's flag, try not to draw America's flag." Mom explained.

I shrugged. "I can't make any promises."

"Well, try."

I nodded and got up to go to my room. "Oh, and mom?"

"Hmm?" She lifted her head.

"Goodnight."
