You lifted your head as you groggily opened your eyes. The sun blared in you vision as you squealed uncomfortably (Blinded by the light~). Perrito was sitting on the edge of the wagon seat, his tongue flying in the air. You turned around to find Puss and Kitty opening the map. It was blank. Kitty's eyes widened, as she took her mask off. "What? This is blank. We've been ripped off! Where is the..." she trailed off as golden letters appeared on the map. I chuckled as Puss smirked at Kitty. "Oh. Yeah. I knew it was gonna do that." Kitty said. Puss looked at the map as you crawled to their side. "The Dark Forest is deep and far. Within it's bounds, you'll find the star." Puss answered. Your eyes widened. You knew what the map was for now. "The wishing star..." you trailed off.
"Ugh. The Dark Forest? No one goes into The Dark Forest." Kitty huffed. "Or comes out." Puss added, staring off into space. More words appeared on the map. "A single wish burns true and bright. This map's the key, so hold on tight." she answered. Kitty stood up as she tried to grab the map from Puss. "Suéltame!" Kitty hissed, pulling out her dagger. "You let go!" Puss said, pulling out his stick-sword. Kitty's face went smug, as did yours. "A stick? What happened to your sword?" she chuckled. "Got rid of it, you know. Made things to easy. I needed a challenge" he answered a little to quickly. "Yeah. You looked pretty challenged back there." Kitty teased. "Wish I was there to see it." you added. Puss turned his head to you. "You, stay out of this!" he said, waving his stick-sword. "There's no way I'm letting you hold the map!" he yelled.
"Well, there's no way I'm letting you hold the map!" she retorted. "I can hold it." Perrito added. Puss and Kitty whipped their heads towards the mutt. They held out their weapons at him. You glared, "Leave him alone." you warned. Kitty scoffed. "Yeah right, what's your deal anyway?" she gestured to the dog, "You run with the Chihuahua Gang?" she asked. "I don't think so." he answered. She held the dagger at his throat as you grabbed the end of it. She glared at you before turning her gaze back to Perrito. "I don't believe you." she answered. "That's okay. As long as you believe in yourself." he added. Her eyes widened, "What? Is he deranged?" she said, turning her head from you to him repeatedly before backing away, the knife nicking you in the process.
"Yep." Puss smacked his lips. "What's your name?" Kitty asked. He turned his eyes to the road once again. "Oh, I've been called many names; Dog. Bad Dog. Stupid Dog. Hey You! You There! Get Out! Leave It! Drop It! Big Rat. Small Pig. Rat Face. Butt Nugget. Shit for Brains. You know that sort of thing." he finished. You and Kitty looked to each other, quite shocked. "But I've never had a name that really stuck, you know? That belonged to me." he added. You smiled reassuringly. "Is he done?" Puss asked. You shot him a glare. He raised his free hand in defense. "And you are?" Perrito asked, lifting his hand in greeting. "Softpaws. Kitty Softpaws." she answered, slapping his hand away before showing him her cloudlike paw.
"Wow! Yeah. Now, that's a good name. There's music in a name like that. Kitty Softpaws~." he said flamboyantly, his hands waving to his side. "Nice try. Classic con. No one's that dumb, No one's that nice. I don't trust you!" she answered. "Me neither. He cannot be trusted." Puss said, staring at Kitty while trying to take the map.
"But I trust him more than I trust you!" she said pointing her dagger at the mutt then Puss, almost pricking his nose. Her sword's length grew as she tapped the mechanism on it's hilt. "Wow. This trip is going to be fun." Puss sighed. "Tell me about it." you moaned, rolling your eyes.
