Chapter 19

Penelope's POV

I stumble and groan. "You know, you're supposed to be my eyes Grayson Miller! I'm blind here" I hear him chuckle and he steadies me. "I'm sorry, okay we're almost there and then you can take your blindfold off" I roll my eyes behind the blindfold and grunt. "You better be right" I hear him scoff. "I'm always right, excuse you" I choose to ignore him and focus on walking so that I don't trip. I hear the sounds of crickets, and birds. After a bit more walking he stops me. "Okay take off your blindfold" finally. I reach up and take it off, I blink a few times to get my eyes to adjust to the light. Wait those aren't lights.

"Fireflies!" I smile brightly. They're so pretty. They're everywhere, there's a bunch flowers here too, trees and bushes. Then I see it, a picnic area with two pillows, a big blanket, and food. The picnic is in front of a river, a long river. "I knew you'd like it" I turn to face him and squeal, I hug him. "This is amazing! And I love it! Come on!" I grab his hand and pull him to the picnic. I sit down and pull him down.

"Easy!" He laughs. I blush and apologize. "This is so beautiful Grayson, thank you" He nods and smiles. "Anything for you" I smile as he brings my hand up to his lips and kiss it. I blush and look down at the food he has, strawberries covered in chocolate, macaroons, chocolate chip cookies, sandwiches, tacos, and salads. "What place is this?" I ask him, turning to face him. He looks around. "We're here illegally" He smiles softly and I gave him a blank stare.

"Tough crowd, anyways. I came here a lot after I was discharged from the military. I had seen a lot of things and suffered from ptsd, I got therapy and I still go to therapy when I feel the days get bad again. So I found a place of solace, this place. This place gave me peace and let me organize my thoughts and feelings and do breathing techniques my therapist has taught me to do, and I also came here after my dad had died.

But this place is also a place I came when I needed to rant out into the air with no one around. This is a very special place to me and I'm so fucking glad I get to share with the woman I love" I smile softly and go and sit on his lap. "I love you and I'm so glad that you trust me enough to bring me here"

He wraps his arms around me and holds me close. "Here" I feel him move and I look over my shoulder to see him grab a chocolate covered strawberry and bring it up to my lips. "Did you wash all the-" He interrupts me. "Yes sunshine, I washed all the fruits thoroughly and multiple times. Now eat" I bite into the strawberry and lean back against him. "Ohh that's good" He hums.

"I'm glad you like it, I also have red wine" I look up to him and smile. "We getting drunk!" He frowns and shakes his head. "It's only for the date and no, you have work tomorrow and I don't want you drunk, I still gotta ask you something and I want you sober" I sigh and nod. "Fine" Then I perk up. "When are you gonna ask me?" He chuckles. "Soon sunshine, now dig in the food, I spent a lot of time on that" I nod and salute him. "Yes sir" I snort. 'Yes sir' lol so stupid pen.

"I'm so full" I'm laying in Grayson's arms as we star gaze, thankfully we're far enough away from the city to see the stars out. "You keep saying that sunshine, just look at the stars" I nod. "You look at the stars too, you keep staring at me" He nods and I look up. The stars are so beautiful and bright. I fiddle with his shirt with my hands as I keep gazing at the stars.

"Penelope" I turn to him. "Yes?" He was still staring at me, he brings one hand to my chin and caress my cheek. "Penelope Jones, I have no reason to gaze at the stars above when the only star I see is you, you are my star, my light, my sunshine. And it would make me so happy if you would allow me to be yours. Will you, my sunshine, be my girlfriend?" I smile warmly at him. "Yes Grayson Miller, I would gladly have you as mine and be your girlfriend"

He smiles brightly down at me and leans down, I meet him halfway and kiss him passionately. He holds me tighter against him as he deepens the kiss even more, pushing his tongue inside me. I moan and arch into him. He pulls away to breathe. "God, I love you" I say breathlessly and he shakes his head.

"It sounds like you're saying you love god, no. You love me and only me. My star, you are mine" I smile. "You sound so possessive" He smirks and winks at me. "I'm possessive over what's mine" I smile and kiss him again. He smiles against my lips and nibbles on my bottom lip.

I whimper softly and tug his hair. He groans and holds me tighter. I pull away as I yawn. "Looks like someone is sleepy" I blush and hide my face in the crook of his neck. "Maybe" He chuckles and pulls away from me, standing up, leaving me on the blanket. "Come back, I'm cold without your warmth"

He chuckles. "Come on, help me by bringing the pillows and blankets to the car and I'll get everything else, then when we get home, we can go to sleep or do you want me to make you cum?" I blush and tuck in my hair behind my ear. "As much as I want that, I'm really tired" He nods and then he laughs softly. "You did the Debby Ryan" I groan and push him.

"Bitch! Don't say that, I'm leaving your ass" I grab the pillows and blanket and walk away, I hear him laugh. "You know you love me sunshine" I ignore him as I walk back to the car, putting them in the car. After, I go to open the door but I hear a shout. "Wait" I look back to see Grayson. I shrug my shoulders and open the car door and get in and close the door just for Grayson to open it three seconds later.

"Get out, please. I want to be the one to open the door for you, especially now that you're my girl" I roll my eyes and slide out. "Thank you" He closes the door and opens it again and holds out his hand for me to take, I take his hand and he helps me in the car.

"You're welcome thumper and thank you, hurry back love. I wanna fall asleep in the car while holding your hand" He smiles and nods, leaning down and giving me a peck on my lips before closing the door and going back.
Before long we were on the road heading home, I had the seat all the way back back and I was holding his hand, falling asleep. "I'll wake you when we're home sunshine" I hum out a 'ok' and let sleep consume me.

I wake up when the car turns off. I look around to see we're back at the apartment complex. "I'll clean out the stuff later, come on sleepyhead, let's get you into bed" I nod. He helps me out of the car and we walk into the apartment complex holding hands. I was basically nodding off while walking and waiting in the elevator because before I knew I was in front of my apartment.

"No, I wanna sleep with you, can we match pjs again?" He nods and smiles down at me. "Here" He hands me his keys. "Go into my bed, I'll bring your pjs" I nod and listen to him and hand him my keys, walking away and unlock his door and go inside and sit on his bed and wait for him.

After a few minutes, he comes in with my pjs and he goes and grabs his pair and we change, facing away from each other. "Finally" I say when I'm in his bed cuddling with him. "Finally indeed" he says and holds me closer. "Goodnight Sunshine" I smile tiredly. "Goodnight thumper"
