Chapter 6

Penelope's POV

The way his eyes darkened, his jaw. I bite my lip and I feel myself grow wet. And then yesterday, the outline in his pants was so big, how could that fit? I jolt when I felt a hand on my shoulder and I turn to see Cherry. "Fuck Cherry, you scared me." I turn to Cherry and she smiles at me with her hands up.

"My bad doll, didn't mean to scare ya' anyways I just wanted to let you know that I'm leaving now, me and my girl got a date" I smile at how happy she looks. I wonder if I could have that. "I'm glad you're so happy Cherry, hope you have fun on your date, oh and happy anniversary"

She smiles so brightly at me and hugs me and squeals. "Thank you! Oh and I have an inkling that my girl is gonna propose" I raise my eyebrow and smile. "Oh really? Well definitely keep me posted, I want to know if Vicky proposes to you" She salutes and nods. "Will do captain, anyways bye now" She walks away and I wave bye to her.

"Bye Lilly, see you tomorrow!" I wave at Lilly as she leaves. "Bye!" She calls out and leaves through the door. I finish wiping down the counter and grab the broom and start sweeping the floor and putting every trash in a black bag, and then I start mopping the floor, being careful of the chairs and tables.

But eventually I was done, going into my office I grab my coat, purse and keys to the cafe, I lock up for the night and walk home. Thankfully it's only a ten minute walk but it is late out.

As a precaution I take out my expired pepper spray. "Hopefully anyone that sees it will go the other way" I say quietly to myself. I look over my shoulder to see a car following me slowly. "Yeah, fuck that" I take out my phone and call Grayson, after ringing twice he picks up.

"Hello sunshine, what can I-" "Shut up Gray" I cut him off. "I'm walking home after locking up and a car is following me, you have my location, can you-" He cuts me off. "I'm already leaving Sunshine, don't worry, nothing is gonna happen to you. You know that pizza place that's down the street from our apartment complex? Go there, I'll be waiting for you, in the mean time don't hang up"

I let out a shaky breath as the car is still following me but picking up some speed to keep up with my speed walking. "Yea I'm not hanging up anytime soon Thumper, just uhh if something does happen then-" He growls.

"Then they're fucking dead Sunshine, nobody is gonna touch and hurt someone I care about and get away with it" I shiver at how deep and tough is voice sounds. Is it weird that I'm a little turned on? "No" He hums at my word.

"Why'd you say no? Are you okay?" His voices turns from cold to holding so much concern. "Yeah I'm okay, I was just saying no to a thought I had" I sigh in relief when I see him walking towards me while holding his phone.

I hanged up the phone as I got closer to him "Thank fuck bro, I was getting scared" I hug him and he holds me tightly. "Gray?" I look up at him to see him staring at the car with his hand on his waistband, I look down to see him carrying his gun. "Oh I forgot you had a gun"

I hear a car speeding and look up in time to see that car turn around and speed off. "Fuck yeah you son of a bitch!" I giggle at the sight of the car leaving and I turn to see Grayson looking down at me. He grabs my shoulders and looks over me.

"Are you alright? No bruises or broken bones or some shit?" I smile softly at him and grab his arms...very muscular arms, I shake my head as answer to him and to make those thoughts leave.

"I'm not hurt, I was just scared of what could've happened, so just shaken, I guess." He nods and then pulls me to him, holding me tightly. "I'm just glad you called me Sunshine, I don't what I would've done if anything happened to you, I care about you so much, I love you."

I smile and hug him tightly. "Awww you're so soft Thumper, I love you too, now come on, I'm tired and wanna sleep." I feel him nod against my shoulder and pull away. "Alright, let's get going."

Grayson's POV

I lead her to my car that was parked a bit down, having my hand on the small of her back. I look down at her with a small smile as she yawns and I can feel my chest tighten at the thought of her getting hurt. If only she knew when I say I love her, I don't mean it as a friend.
