#4: Thaleyna Part 1

Thalia's POV

'Thalia?' Emerson asked. I looked up.
'Yes?'
'Are you sure everything is fine? You aren't here with your heas since we met the Romans. Are you sure you haven't a crush on one of those boys?' She said.
'I have no crush on one of those stupid boys, Emerson.' I said. 'I am just thinking a lot. You can just go and walk around, okay?'
'Okay.' She sighed. She walked out of the tent.
I laid down on my bed. 'Why are you so much in my head, daughter of Bellona? Why can't you just go out?' I mumbled.
'So you have a crush on the preator of New Rome?' Someone asked. I shot up. Lady Artemis smiled at me.
I got up and bowed. 'I didn't know you were here, my Lady.'
'Stand up, Thalia Grace. We need to talk.' She said. I slowly got up.
'What do you feel when you think about her, my dear?' She asked. I blushed and looked down.
'I-I feel something tickling in my stomach. I feel warm inside and want to go to her.' I mumbled.
'You do know you can't have a crush while being a Huntress, don't you?' She asked.
'I do, my Lady.' I answered.
'You will have to forget her if you want to stay.' She added.
My head shot up. 'But wasn't the oath about boys? Wasn't it so that we can't fall in love with boys?' I exclaimed.
'It is about falling in love in general.' She said calm.
I sighed. 'I can't just forget her, my Lady. I am trying for weeks now and she is still in my head. I don't know what to do.' I whispered.
'If I have learned something from Aphrodite about love, it's that heart breaks helo to forget easier. I will send you to New Rome. You get one week to win her heart.' She said.
'And what happens if I fail?' I asked.
'You will have to come back and forget her, of course. You will stay a Huntress.' She answered. 'But if you succeed, you will have to stay there. You will loose your immortality and can't become a Huntress ever again. Are you willing to take a chance?'
'I... Can I have one day to think? This is a really hard decision.'
'Of course. Tomorrow at sunset you will have to give your answer. If you do want to go, take your properties with you. If you don't you just come and say you don't. I will see you tomorrow in my tent.' And with that she disappeared in a silvery flash.
What do I do now? Is love more important than this?

I walked into Lady Artemis' tent while the sun was just about to set. She smiled at me.
'And?' She asked.
I clutched the band of my bag. 'I'll do it.'
'It's settled then. We will go when the sun is completely set.' She said. I looked out. The sun was almost gone. I looked back in when the sun was set.
'Let's go.' She said. She extended her hand to me and I took him. In a flash we stood next to two roads. It came out of two big tunnels. There stood two Romans between the two roads.
'I remind you, you can't become a Huntress again after you fall in love with the preator of New Rome, Thalia. But you were a great help. I wish a lot luck.' Artemis said. I let go of her hand and she disappeared in a silvery flash.
Aphrodite, if you hear me, help me succeed.
I took a deep breath. I quickly crossed the road, dodging the cars. I jumped the last part and landed on both of my feet on the little patch of grass between the roads. I walked to the two Romans. The right one was a tall boy with dark hair and brown eyes and the left one was a short blond girl with green eyes. They first pointed at me with their spears but pulled them away when they recognised me from my last visit here.
'Lieutenant Thalia. What brings you here without the Huntresses?' The boy asked.
'A little visit.' I answered. They nodded and the girl led me in. She went back when we reached the river.
I took a few steps back and then ran towards it. I jumped and landed on the other side without looking down. I took a deep breath and walked to the barracks.
'Thalia!' Someone screamed. I looked around and saw Piper running towards me.
'Nice to see you.' She said out of her breath. 'What brings you here?'
'I wanted to see Jason.' I lied.
'How would you know we would be here?' Piper asked.
'I... Uhh...' I stuttered.
'Thalia, tell me the real reason you're here.' Piper ordered with charmspeak. I shortly told her about it.
'Piper, your mother is Aphrodite. Do you have any tips for me?' I asked.
'Let's keep this straight. (Really, Pipes? Straight?) Be yourself. Nobody likes liars.' She said.
'Okay.' I nodded.
'Try to be helpful, but let her try it herself first. Try to be around her often, but don't be sticky or stalkish. Ehm.. Yeah, that is the most important, I guess.' Piper shrugged.
'Thank you.' I sighed. 'Do you think this will work?'
'Well, you both love fighting, are leaders, strong, confident, not afraid to stand up for yourself.' Piper said. 'You have a lot in common. There is a chance that this will work. I will look if I can ask my mother for help.'
'Thank you, again. Say hello to my brother, will you?'
'I will.' She smiled. 'Good luck, Thalia. Love may looks easy, it never is.'
I nodded and we parted away.

I have been six days and a morning in New Rome now. I have been a lot with Reyna, but it looked like she tried to push me away. I only have this day left.
I walked to Reyna's barrack. I asked for permission to come in and when she called that I can, I went in. She was alone with a boy. It looked like they were discussing something.
'Is there something you want to say, Thalia?' Reyna asked.
'I wanted to tell you that my time is over soon.' I answered. 'Artemis gave me permission for one week and it will end this evening. I probably will be packing this afternoon, so you know where you can find me.'
'I will pay you a visit before you go.' She smiled. I smiled back.
'I will see you then, then.' I said. I glanced at the boy and walked out.
Is it normal here that preators give their guests visits? Or is it for me only? Does she like me back? Probably not. I will just go back to the Huntresses tonight.
I went to my tent. I quickly folded my clothes and stuffed them into my bag. I placed my bow, quiver, sword and dagger at the table and went to lay down. I closed my eyes for only a second, but fell asleep.

Reyna's POV

She glanced at Diego and walked out. Diego and I continued discussing some strategies for a while. When we were done, I dismissed him and walked to Thalia's tent. It's now or never, Reyna, your last chance. I went in. It was a lot bigger than it looked. I looked around. A soft snore filled the room. I walked to the bed hidden in the shadows. Thalia was sleeping on it. I smiled at the sight. She looked so peaceful, instead of a little bit nervous like she is most of the time. A few bangs of her black with blue hair hanged in her face. I carefully sat down beside her and brushed them away.
'Reyna.' She whispered and a smile appeared on her beautiful face. I stared shocked at her. Did she really just said my name in her sleep? Is she dreaming about me? Does she like me back?
Thalia's eyes suddenly fluttered open. They widened when they saw me and she blushed. She quickly sat up.
'R-r-Reyna! Hey! What are doing here?' She asked nervous.
'I told you I would visit you.' I smiled. She smiled back. A few bangs of her hair fell onto her face. I brushed them away without thinking. Thalia's breath hitched.
'R-r-Rey-' She started to stutter. I cut her off by crashing my lips on hers. She stiffened. When she didn't kiss back, I started to pull away. Suddenly she placed her hand in my neck and pulled my lips back in hers. It was my turn to stiffen, but I kissed back earlier and closed my eyes. Our lips moved in sync. I pulled away when I remembered I needed to breath and leaned my forehead against hers.
'Thalia?' I whispered.
'Yes?' She whispered back.
'I love you.'
'I love you, too, Reyna.' She said. I opened my eyes to look at her beautiful face. Her blue eyes shimmered of happiness. Then a question popped up.
'But, the Huntresses? Isn't it against your oath?' I asked.
'I choose you over it. I rather try to love then live for ever.' She answered. Then it hit me.
'This is why you visited, isn't it?'
'It is. Lady Artemis gave me one week to win your heart. If I had failed, I would have to forget you and continue being a Huntress. But since I succeed, I can stay.' She answered.
'Good, because I wouldn't let you go anyway.' I smiled and kissed her again. I pulled away when I heard a squeal. I looked around. Piper was smiling like a doofus at us.
'I told you, Thalia.' She said and walked out.
'What was that about?' I asked turning back to Thalia.
She was blushing, what made her cute. 'I asked her advice.' She mumbled.
'It was a good choice to ask her instead of any other Venus or Aphrodite kid.' I thought aloud.
'Indeed.' She smiled. Her smile brightened up her beautiful face. She intertwined our fingers. I leaned in to kiss her, but when her lips touched mine, I shot back, grabbing my mouth and groaned.
'What's wrong?' She asked worried.
'You shocked me!' I exclaimed. 'Literally!'
She giggled. 'Sorry, I get a little shocky when I'm happy or excited.'
I pulled my hand away when the pain was gone and smiled. 'I don't mind.' She kissed me.

Hi there! This one's pretty long, I think. I'm going to make a part 2, because, well, I felt like it.
WARNING little spoiler: part 2 is about Reyna coming out to the camp.
I think this probably isn't a popular ship, I honestly don't know actually. But I found a headcanon of this so, yeah. This came out. I'm happy how it came out tbh. I'll be working on "Thaleyna 2" or maybe another one-shot for now. I don't know if anybody even like those, maybe everybody hates them. But I honestly don't care. Yes, of course I want people to like my stories, but I also write those for myself. So if you hate my one-shots, or like them, comment your thoughts. You can give me the meanest hate or the sweetest love, I will read them both. The hate won't hurt me but the love will make me feel better.
