#5 Thaleyna Part 2

Reyna's POV

It has been two weeks now. Two weeks since Thalia left the Huntresses for me and lived here in New Rome. Two weeks since our first kiss. Two weeks, and I was still afraid to come out to the camp. What would they think when they knew their praetor is lesbian? Would they throw me out? Would they hate me? Would they accept it? I didn't know.
'Reyna?' Thalia asked, snapping me out of my thoughts. I looked at her and smiled.
'Yes, Thals?'
'Are you okay? You know that I love you no matter what, right?' She asked.
'I know that, Thalia. But I wish we could just come out and be together in public. It hurts to fake it.' I responded.
'Then why don't you come out?' She asked.
'Because I'm afraid to lose everything I've been working on here. I love being a praetor, but I also love you. What if they don't like lesbians? What if they throw us out? All those years would be one big nothing. All the trust I've earned. All the comrades and friends I made. They could be gone in a heartbeat.' I sighed. 'I don't want to lose them, but I also don't want to lose you.'
'Rey-rey, you will never ever lose me. And there is nothing wrong with being lesbian. Did you forget Nico and Will? Everybody loves them!'
'But that's in Camp Half-Blood!' I snapped.
'Oh come on! The god of the sun and music is bisexual! Does somebody hate him? No! He's still their sungod!' Thalia exclaimed. I opened my mouth to say something, but closed again. I sighed.
'I... I will see what I can do.' I mumbled. I get up. 'I'm going for a walk. Alone.' I walk out of Thalia's house. She got a small house in New Rome when she decided to stay. I walked around for a while untill it started to get dark. I started to head towards my barrack. When I walked past the bar of New Rome a young man came up to me.
'Hey lovely, want to have a good time with me?' He asked smirking.
'You really don't who you have in front of you, do you?' I hissed.
'Even if you were the praetor, I would care less. Girls are girls.' He said smirking. He leaned closer and I could smell his breath. He was drunk. I pushed him away.
'Name and godly parent.' I ordered calmly.
'Brandon Li, sweet cheeks. My dad is Mercurius.' He chuckled.
'Well, son of Mercurius, you're in great trouble tomorrow. You're talking to the praetor itself.' I said.
He laughed. 'And I'm the king of the gods.' Suddenly he shoved me against the wall. 'Let's have a great time, sexy.'
'You want to have sex with a lesbian?' I asked. I bit my tongue after I said it. Please, let him be drunk enough to forget it.
'Even better!' Brandon laughed. 'I heard from a friend that lesbians can have the best sex. Let's try it.' And he leaned forwards. I pushed my leg up and kicked him in his manhood. He let go of me and grabbrd it, leaning down. I pushed him away.
'You can look forward to a punishment, Brandon Li.' I said and pushed him, causing him to fall down. I walked away and continued my way to my barrack.

The next few days I saw people staring at me. When I turned my head to them, they turned their head away quickly.
'Why is everyone staring at me?' I huffed as I let myself fall down on Thalia's couch. Piper and Jason were visiting again so Thalia went to get some groceries.
'Because they know you are lesbian.' Piper answered.
'What?!' I yelled, getting up.
'Everybody talks about it. A Mercurius kid started to rumor, I heard.' Jason answered. They were the only ones who knew about my relationship with Thalia.
'That stupid Brandon! I had to punish him the first day after it!' I shouted.
'After what?' Jason asked.
'He tried to kiss me and stuff a few days ago and I accidentally blurted out, okay? I don't even know why.' I answered.
'One, he is so dead now.' Jason said. 'Two, why don't you just come out to the camp?'
'Jason, you know the Romans better than I do. Was it allowed to love the same gender back then?' Piper asked.
'No, but-'
'Then why do you still ask why Reyna is afraid of coming out? Romans haven't accept it then and maybe they won't now.' Piper said.
'Exactly.' I said.
'I thought you were smarter than that, Jason.' Piper sniled.
'Smarter than what.' Thalia asked when she walked in with some bags. She placed them in the kitchen and sat down next to me.
'Smarter than questioning why I wasn't coming out.' I answered.
'Wasn't?' Thalia asked shocked. 'Are you going to?'
'M-ma-maybe.' I stuttered and blushed. 'I-I will s-see.'
'That would be so great, Reyna! Imagine it! Real dates! Holding hands in public! No secret meeting anymore!' Piper exclaimed.
I'm sure I was crimson red.
'Coming out or not, I'll still love you, Rey-rey.' Thalia said and kissed my cheek. I was as red as I could ever be.
'So the non-romanticism isn't in the family, but it's just you?' Piper muttered.
'Hey, leave my brother alone. You are the one who taught me this, Pipes.' Thalia said.
'Let me out of this!' Piper said.
'We're all in this together, Piper.' I said.
'I'm still wondering when the proposal is going to be.' Thalia thought aloud. 'Is going to be soon?'
Jason blushed.
'Hey, they know each other for only a year. Give their relationship some time. I would say, proposal between the third and the fifth year. Long enough to know each other totally, and soon enough so you won't wait that long.' I responded.
'I'm with Reyna.' Piper said.
'True.' Thalia nodded.
Jason's face was completely red by now. Even his neck and ears.
'Look, my little brother is a tomato!' Thalia laughed. Piper and I bursted out laughing.
'We all know that Will, Nico's soon-to-be-boyfriend, is the son of Apollo, right?' Piper asked still laughing. We nodded. 'Apollo is the son of Zeus. You're both his children.' She pointed at Jason and Thalia. 'What means you're his uncle and aunt.'
We all laughed.
'I so gonna tease him about this when I'm back at the camp.' Jason laughed.
'Same here.' Thalia laughed.
I glanced at the clock. It was 5 pm already. I was going to have a meeting in an hour. An idea popped up in my head. It's time...
Without saying anything I got up and walked to the door.
'Where are you-' Piper started.
'Thalia, be at the meeting hall in an hour.' I said and walked out. I went to the shops.

'So why did you want me to come here?' Thalia asked when she walked up to me. I was waiting for her in front of the meeting hall.
'If I tell you, it won't be a suprise.' I answered.
'You know I hate suprises!' She whined.
'But you will love this one! But we need to go or else we will late.' I said. I took her wrist and pulled her with me. I went in and saw that everyone was there. They didn't saw us since we were in the shadows.
'This is it.' I mumbled. A little box in the pocket of my chiton was burning my side. I took a deep breath. I breathed out and pulled Thalia with me to stand in front of the others. Whispers started when they saw Thalia.
'What is she doing here?'
'I don't know, let's wait.'
'Is this even allowed?'
'Silence!' I shouted. The whispers stopped immediately. I continued. 'Thank you all for coming. But before we start I have something important to do.'
Taking out the small box, I turned to Thalia. She stared shocked at it. I smiled at her.
'Thalia Grace, daughter of Zeus. Will you do the honor to be my official girlfriend?' I asked. I opened the box, revealing a thin silver and gold ring with tiny gems.
'Yes!' She squeaked. My smile widened and I pulled the ring out of the box and pulled it on her left hand. She pulled me into an embrace and I could feel her sobs. A loud applause came from the others. We let go of each other and looked at them.
One of the centurions got up. 'So the rumor is true? You are a lesbian?' She asked.
'Yes, I am.' I answered.
'And you came out to us, even while you knew it wasn't allowed in the past and you could lose your position as praetor?' Another centurion asked.
'Love is more important than power.' I answered, intertwining my fingers with Thalia's.
'I am also homosexual!' A boy shouted jumping up. A few other girls and boys did the same.
'I am gender-fluid!' A girl yelled in the front row.
'So is there someone who is against this?' I shouted, trying to be heard.
'No!' Everybody shouted in unison. I smiled.
'Now that this is done, how about we start the meeting?' I asked. Everyone agreed. I turned to Thlia and kissed her cheek.
'I will see you later, okay, my love?' I asked her.
'Meet me at mine, okay, sweetie?' She asked smiling.
I nodded and she walked out. Frank stood up and came to stand beside me. We opened the meeting.
