Chapter 2: Tests of Tests

My pov:

Gon was talking to the captain, while Me, Sei, Kurapika and Leorio waited for him.

" Hey Gon, what did the captain say to you? " I ask Gon as he makes his way back to Sei, Kurapika, Leorio and I.

" He told me to head towards the cedar tree on top of the hill. " Gon explains with a happy tone.

" Huh? That's strange. According to the notice I received the Exam is supposedly held in Zaban city, it's the complete opposite direction of the tree " Leorio says as he points at the map we we're looking at.

" Perhaps you were given the wrong information? " Sei said politely to Leorio.

" I'd rather trust the advice the captain gave us " I said.

" Same " Sei agrees.

We began to make our way towards the tree. As we walked away from the group, we can hear Leorio's rambling fading away.

It wasn't long before Kurapika joined us to the cedar tree and after awhile, Leorio came running towards us.

" Hey Leorio, that was a rather short goodbye " I said while giggling.

Sei and the other boys snickered at my comment.

" Well, I knew you guys would be lonely without me. " He said, scratching the back of his neck.

Sei, Gon and I chuckled at his comment while Kurapika just smiled peacefully. After walking for awhile, we arrived at a shabby looking town which looked deserted but I can smell many people around.

We came to a stop as we were surrounded by people wearing masks and an old lady.

" Doki doki... " the old woman mumbled.

' Oh boy... ' I thought, knowing what's going to happen next.

" Exciting? " Leorio questioned " what's this freak show? "

" EXCITING TWO-CHOICE QUIZ!! " The old woman shouted which the boys weren't expecting and caught them off guard whereas Sei and I had previously covered our ears as we knew what was coming.

" Huh? A quiz? " The boys questioned in a confused stated.

" To reach that tree, you must pass through this town " the old woman answers.

Since Sei and I already know what's going to happen next, we decided to stay quiet and let the current events unfold.

After the old woman explained the quiz and rules, the man that followed us from the port came forward to take the quiz. Which he failed as I heard his scream from the distance followed by the smell of blood.

Leorio kept shouting that there was no right answer, unaware that he just said the answer out loud.

" Hay nako... Ka Bogo nalang ni Leorio " Sei said as I nod in agreement.

Translation: My God... Leorio's so stupid

I gave Kurapika a look and a nod, to let him know that was the right answer, he seemed to understand the message, but as soon as he tried to tell Leorio, the old woman stopped him.

Fortunately, Leorio kept quiet during the countdown and we passed the old woman's test.

2 HOURS LATER

" ' Walk two hours ' she said? It was two hours, two hours ago! Damn. " Leorio complained.

" Guys, look there's a sign there! " I called to them which caught their attention as we walked towards it.
