Chapter 5: The First Phase part 2

My pov:

" We can't let our guard down " Killua mentioned seriously.

To which Gon, Sei and I nodded in agreement.

It wasn't long before we felt Hisoka's bloodlust expanded. Once Killua became aware, he urged us to move up.

" I want to increase the distance between us and Hisoka " he said, which Sei and I agreed to.

Gon on the other hand was slightly confused, but followed anyway. After a while, we got separated from the group.

" I can hear screams all around us " I mentioned.

" Just stay on your guard. " Sei mentioned.

" I wonder if Leorio and Kurapika are okay... " I hear Gon mumbled under his breath.

We came to a stop as the floor beneath us was sinking.

" Huh?! " We exclaimed as the floor sank and a giant mouth closed around us.

As we got swallowed, I feel Killua grab my waist which kept me stable. Sei used light magic to create a small ball of light to act as our flashlight, the boys looked at her with amazement.

" So... Now what? " Sei asked.

Killua then digs into his pockets and pulled out a can of soda and handed it to me. Gon looks at us in confusion as I opened the can of soda and poured it into the frog's mouth. Soon enough, the frog pukes us out and walks away.

" Guess he didn't like orange juice. " Gon said while scratching the back of his head.

" No, that soda contained laxatives that's why it puked " I explained.

Gon soon disappeared to go look for Leorio and Kurapika, while Sei and I stayed with Killua.

After awhile of running on the thick fog, we saw the main group in the distance.

" Cool! We've caught up to the main group guys. " Killua says enthusiastically before turning behind to see only me and Sei.

" Huh? Where did Gon go? " He questions.

" Nothing to worry about, he was just worried for Leorio and Kurapika. He'll catch up soon enough " Sei assured Killua with a smile.

I then went to go after Gon, Once I found the place where Gon was. I found him being strangled by Hisoka.

I rushed to his aid and blasted Hisoka with a scalding hot water ball which caused him to drop Gon and I caught him before he fell to the ground.

" Huhu~ Long time no see, Y/n-chan~ " The clown purrs seductively " you've grown stronger I see... I wonder if Sei-chan also grew stronger "

" Oh piss off, Hisoka! " I hissed as I held Gon protectively.

" No need to get so violent, Y/n-chan~ " He says seductively before he went to pick up Leorio " And one more thing, you two passed "

Then he left, Gon turned to me and ask

" Do you know him, Y/n-san? "

" Yes but not in a good way " I answered " Now, let's go "

Once we reached the place where the second phase would begin, we found Sei and the guys waiting for us.

" Y/n! Gon! Are you alright? " Sei asks.

" We're fine " I answered.

Then I saw Leorio under a tree all cured.

" I used healing magic on him " Sei told me.

" Is that so? That's a relief... "

Leorio then woke up

" How do you feel? " I asked.

" I feel fine, I thought for a moment that my cheek hurt but there's nothing and my memory is kinda hazy " he said.

" You did sustain an injury in the cheek, I healed it up with magic " Sei told him.

" Applicants, phase 2 will begin shortly. Please make your way to the site. " Satotz announced and then left.

The metal doors from the second phase place began to open.

" Will all the applicants that passed the first phase come in? " A green-haired woman said and all the applicants went in.

" I'm Menchi, the second phase examiner " she said.

" And I'm Buhara, the other examiner " the huge man sitting behind her said.

" I would like to congratulate you on passing the first phase. Now, the second phase will be... Cooking " Menchi said.

The applicants were surprised and started whispering. " Why do we need to cook!? " One said.

" Why, you ask? " Menchi said " Because, we're gourmet Hunters!  "

Menchi said, proudly putting her hands on her hips. Then, Everyone but me and my friends started laughing.

" Gourmet Hunters? What's that!? What a let down " The other applicants said.

I noticed Menchi getting annoyed as I could see the veins in her forehead. I took out my sword from my inventory and hit it against the floor, creating a shockwave with my magic that affected everyone but me, my friends, Menchi and Buhara.

The other applicants fell to the ground and slowly stood up and looked at me in shock. I could even feel Hisoka's eyes on me, but I ignored it.

" Be quiet and show some respect to your examiners, if you think Gourmet Hunters are a joke then get lost " I stated coldly as I put my sword back in my inventory

" And plus, I'm itching to see what kind of ingredient she wants us to use in a dish. " Sei said, smirking as she looks at me.

" Might be an ingredient that can be obtained from something dangerous, like a plant or animal I think? " I said.

Hope the others understand my little hint...

As I said that I looked at Menchi who looked back at Sei and I with an interested look.

She seems to understand that we were trying to help the other stupid applicants understand Gourmet Hunters better.

She gave us a look that said thanks and we smiled back in response.

" So, Gourmet Hunters, what are we going to make? " A guy, I think his name was Todo? asked.

" Buhara. " She called making Buhara stand up making a loud stomp.

" The required ingredient would be pork! " Buhara said out loud.

" Feel free to use any kind of meat in the forest! " He said " Ready? Get set, Go! "

Use any kind of meat? Bro, the only type of pigs in the biska forest are the great stamp...
