Chapter 10: The Third Phase part 2

My pov:

We kept on moving until we ended up on a path that led out into a deep hole in the ground. A little ledge from the path we we're on stuck out.

On the other side was one too. In the middle of the hole was a platform in the form of a square. It had four poles on the edges that illuminated the area. The candles on them were flickering with a small flame.

I could see the prisoners on the other side.

Lippo started to explain the rules for this. " The prisoners goal is to buy time which delays their prison time "

" You May pick your order. It's majority rules, so secure four wins and you may pass. " The first prisoner explains.

" I shall g- " Kurapika was suddenly interrupted by Sei taking out her sword.

" I'll go first " Sei insisted.

Sei and I looked at each other and nodded.

" Good luck, Sei " I said.

" Thanks "

Sei walked to the platform with poker face. When the prisoner proposed a death match, Sei agreed and the match started.

Sei's poker face changed into a cold deadly expression as she unsheathed her sword and decapitated the prisoner's head in a second.

Everyone watched in shock as the prisoner's head rolled to the ground, Sei wiped the blood off her sword using the prisoner's clothes before coming back to our side.

I gave Sei a high-five as did Gon and Killua while Kurapika just looks at us with a cold sweat on his temple while Leorio looks at her with his mouth hanging in shock which I closed.

" So, who's next? " Killua asked.

" Me! I'll go! " Gon said enthusiastically while putting his hand up. Gon proceeded to put his bag down and walk to the platform.

Go get em, Gon!

The prisoner proposed a game for the next match. He pulls out two candles one short and one tall.

" The one who's candle goes out first is the loser ". He let Gon choose which candle he wanted first, it was decided by majority rules.

After taking our time to discuss it as a group, we all came to a conclusion to trust on Gon's instincts. Gon ended up choosing the long one, simply because it's long.

The match started, as soon as they lit up the candles. After a while, the fire on Gon's candle suddenly became stronger.

Before the candle was completely gone, Gon suddenly placed his candle on the floor and with one quick step, he came close to the prisoner's candle and simply blew it and won.

Thanks to Gon's quick thinking, we won that round. Sei and I gave him a high-five as he came back.

" Alright, I'll go next " Kurapika said as he stepped on the platform.

His blue looking opponent talked way too much which made me want to get over there so he'd shut the fuck up, until they finally agreed to a death match. The blue guy starts to pump himself up, making his muscles slightly bigger.

" He looks weak... " Sei mentioned to me.

" Yeah, there's nothing to worry about " Gon said calmly while Leorio looked at Gon, Sei and I in a confused state.

" When I look at him, I don't feel chills " Gon elaborated while Killua gave us an approving grin.

The blue guy then showed us his back as he flaunted about his spider tattoo.
