Choosing time

Chapter 4

I see a glimpse of the person. There stands the guy he showed me last night. He's has curly short hair a few face piercings. He has holes all over his clothes an a huge arm tattoo of a phoenix.

"Hi Asher sorry it took so long for me to get here." He rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

"Guys you can come out its just an old friend." Asher says putting the pan back on the stove. He walks in slowly shutting the door behind him.

"This is Dominic guys." He goes back to where Dominic is standing and wraps his arm around him. "Dominic this is Iris, Levi, and Ruth. Oh and Iris's mom is in the other room."

Everyones still on edge, its silent in the room. "How much you wanna bet this guys gonna try to turn us in." Ruth whispers in my ear. She's very skeptical and doesn't like nor trust new people.

"I doubt it Asher wouldn't let that happen."

"Just saying I don't trust him." She stares at him then walks away heading back to her and Levi's room.

"So your Asher's old friend?" I smile trying to not come off rude. He looks back over clearly upset.

"Yea we kinda lost touch but I always text him during choosing time." He looks back at his phone. I could tell he didn't want to talk so I went to go check on my mom.

I knocked on her door but she didn't answer, I didn't want to bother her if she was sleeping so I went back to the main room. Asher was talking to Dominic when I got back. I put my ear up to the door listening to their in onto their conversation.

"Dominic I get it your sister died but you can't just show up unannounced you scared me and everyone! And we don't have enough for another person!"

"I didn't just come cause of that I was being hunted down for stuff and I thought you could help me out. I always helped you out!"

"Yea, you did but not during these times!"

Both sounded furious and in distress. I didn't know what to do as they were screaming at each other. I started crying and went back to my moms room. I opened the door to see she was missing.

"Mom?" I wiped a tear from my cheek. "Where are you?" I walked around not seeing her. She hadn't left her room after breakfast, we would have known since how creaky the doors are.

I started to freak out. Tears now pouring even more out of my eyes. I ran around searching under everything and looking everywhere. I ran back to Asher. Slamming the door open

"My moms gone! I looked everywhere shes missing!" I screamed falling to the floor sobbing interrupting their argument. Asher and Dominic both came over concerned.

"Are you sure? She has to be around!" Asher sits down next to him and pulls me into his arms. I sink down into him crying into his shoulder.

"Yes! She wasn't there! Theres not really anywhere to go!" I sob harder. What if they have gotten a hold on her. What if they killed her for me disobeying.

"Im sure shes here." He picked me up and stood up. "I'll go look around the place for her you stay here." He puts me on the couch I try holding onto his arm. "Dominic stay with her."

He walked out of the house and I heard him start the car up. Dominic stood right by me, looking over towards me. I grabbed a pillow pulling it closer hugging it close.

"Hey im sure it'll be fine." He said sitting down trying to calm me down. I started to get mad as he stood there. Why did she disappear right as he showed up? And why was Asher and him yelling at reach other?

"Why are you even here? It was fine til you showed up! My mom went missing around the time you showed up! What did you do to her?" I screamed at him, I didn't know for certain but what if he did do something.

Levi and Ruth ran into the room. Ruth already not likely him, ran between me and him yelling even more at him. He didn't say anything. He just sat there, blank faced. It made me more furious. While Ruth was screaming her head off Levi stepped in between all of us trying to calm us down.

"Guys theres probably a logical explanation just let him talk." He faces us to blocking me and Ruth from seeing Dominic.

"Yea I didn't do crap, why would I? I don't know y'all." He explains frustrated at us.

"Then why are you here?" Ruth shouts ignoring Levi. He stays quiet again. "Are you going to answer or what?"

"I would but you people won't listen so whats the point of answering." He stands up and walks over to the door. "Wish y'all luck surviving this alone." He looks at me while saying it before walking out the door.
