The city gathered tools, weapons, first aid, and everything they could think of throwing it all in the original house we stayed in. We had a second smaller meeting to decide who's fighting with us. The others were in charge of aiding the wounded.
The day passed quickly more then half the city were helping fight. We set up a station for different nurses to stay at, including Ruth. She had been going to school to become a nurse for a while so she knew she would be a better help working at the booths.
We also picked a group of ten of the strongest people to help carry the wounded back. Once everything was sorted out we ate a huge dinner together. Having a hamburgers and fries. Everyone had a blast we had a gigantic fire and hosted games.
Dancing around the fire and having a jump rope contest. It was probably the first time in years we were all genuinely happy. Though how fun it was we ended it early to make sure we were well rested.
The next morning we woke up extremely early, before the sun even had risen. We packed up everything and woke up the city. It was finally the day we take over what had been taken from us. I hugged Asher and the rest of my friends and even some of the kind people to help us fight.
Once all of us were ready we made our way to the tunnel. Me and Dex made sure they all knew the plan still. After going over it we made our way to the building. Surrounding it, they began entering. The medical assistants standing by waiting to help. We stormed the building killing two guards by surprise.
Dex, Asher, and I broke up from to group to attack the higher up government officials. I made my way up carefully trying to not get caught. The hallways reminding me of when I was here. I tried to say calm though it was hard. Everything coming back to me.
"Boo!" A voice behind me said causing me to stumble but remain standing. I turned around and pointed a knife at him. The man was the host of the show, his grin was still unsettling. I picked my self up and pointed the knife to his chest.
"This ends now, y'all are no longer in control!" I screamed in his face. My eyes heavy from anger. The tears from them started to fall but I held myself up and kept the knife steady in my hand.
"Aw isn't that precious! How's that stab wound treating ya!" He put his finger on the tip of my blade lowering it. I ignored his response and went to stab him. "Oh no we can't have that!" He grabbed the knife pushing me to the ground.
I hit my head on the floor causing my ears to ring. Quickly scrambling I tried standing back up only for his to put his boot on my chest putting pressure on it. I grabbed his leg to get it off me but it was no use. He lowered it making it harder to breathe. My knife had been kicked to the side just out of my reach.
"So still think you'll win sweetie?" He leaned down enough to get in my face. Adding more pressure crushing down on my chest. My breathes short and barley helping me.
I saw his knife strapped to his chest. His breathe smelling of strong bourbon. Taking the opportunity while he was bent over I reached for it and grabbed it. As soon as he realized it was too late. I jabbed at him over and over. Puncturing his lungs I could hear as blood filled them. He feel on top of me but I kicked him off. He was still alive I could see him trying to breathe. His breathes only coming up as blood. He started to gurgle and his eyes rolled back. Falling limp I knew he was dead. I took his gun off him before walking away.
I called on the walkie talkie, "I killed one of them." I began going down the stairs. While making my way to Asher I shot two different soldiers. I looked outside to see what was happening out there with some of the others. It looked as if four guards were lit on fire. People fighting hand to hand and blood flying everywhere.
When I finally found Asher he was fist fighting one of the main dudes. They were both rolling around on the floor. I waited until I saw an opening shooting the guy in the head.
"Your welcome now lets go, I think I know where Dex is and then we can go to the highest up member." Dominic has told us about all of the government officials. He knew which ones were normally where helping us find them as easy as we did. He also told us the highest up member was the guy's grandson who started all of this. He like the others had kept this tradition and came up with everything. I wanted to give him the most horrific death I could. Was I a monster for that? I wanted to get back at him for killing all of these people. I forced the thought out of my head. I couldn't feel bad for a serial killer.
As we found Dex he had just stabbed the guy and killed him. His shirt had a huge blood splatter on it. "Oh hey guys." He said trying to keep his composure from the blood spilled on his shirt. He looked back at the guy and started to tear up. No matter how much we hated them it still was a human. We were making us more like them doing this.
I pulled him away from the guy, "Hey he's a bad person don't make yourself out to be anything like him!" I gave him a hug before running up the stairs to the final dude. He was stationed at the top and old. We didn't know exactly but he at least had to be 60.
I got up to his room and banged on the door, "Sir we have to take you to safety! People are here trying to kill you!" I made my voice deeper and more masculine to trick him. After a few minutes passed we realized he wouldn't open it for us.
"Back up guys." They backed up watching me. I took a few steps back myself before shooting at the lock. First time I barley missed second time I hit the lock perfectly shooting it off.
