I heard faint voices in the background, everything still a blur. Sitting up I go to rub my eyes but cant move my hands. There tied together in the back of a car. I try to make sense of what's happening not remembering what all happened.
"Oh your waking up sweetie" Her cold finger brushes against my cheek. I jolt back trying to avoid her touch, someone I used to love now a distant memory. "Oh sweetie pie, you know they would find y'all at some point don't look so upset."
"Don't touch me" I say through my teeth, staring at her.
"Wow what a nice way to treat your mother after all I've done for you. Raised you when your father left, I was 17 and alone and this is how you repay me. I need the money, the reward for you was too much to give up"
"And all it took was so money to leave me to," I refuse to look at her. My own mother betraying. My poor friends who pay for her choices.
"Don't you speak to me like that! You know we've been dealing with money issues! And your a burden to have around!" She shouts at me knowing im right. Frustration consuming her.
"Im not wrong! Your just like dad! You could never amount to anything ever again! Not in my eyes!" My blood boiling under my skin. Everything changing, all my opinions gone out the window.
She got so overwhelmed at me, shouting profanities in my ear.
"Your nothing to me!" I scream, that was her last straw. All of a sudden she slapped me as hard as she could.
"I know your not talking to me you awful brat! You humiliate me!" The hatred in her eyes becoming more and more visible.
I stopped talking after that. I tried to get my hands untied but the rope was tied too tightly. I put my head against the window viewing the city. But this wasn't any city. It was The Rich City. That's when I knew my end and my friends deaths were close, too close.
We pulled up into a parking garage. The person driving the car put in a code as a huge gate started to open up. My mother looked at me then put a bag over my head to prevent me from seeing anything. Her attention turning towards my hands as she undid them.
The car door opened and I was finally let out of the car. Someone took my hands putting them behind my back and handcuffing them together. I don't know who's hands they were but they couldn't have been my mom's.
These hands were rough and huge. They weren't gentle either, eagerly pushing me forward and leading me through the place. Soon I was seated and the bag was ripped off my head. The room pitch black and silent.
I try to figure out where I am. The bright lights all of a sudden come on. Blinding me I squint my eyes. I turn around getting a full view of the room. There on the other side of a glass window is two white rooms both with a black chair directly in the middle.
"Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, are you ready for the last rounds of choosing time." Its actually happening this time. I think to myself. I see a camera in the corner of the room watching my every move. Thinking quickly I grab at the chair on the floor but I have no luck because its bolted to the ground.
"Let the games begin then!" The voice says chuckling.
